The main thing is we've looked the better side in the majority of games, we just need to string some wins together and get a good run going. Richard Wood is like a rock in defence, I read that we've kept the most clean sheets in the league so far this season.
Rov'rum cruise 4-1 in the EFL Trophy. (not really) interesting tidbit (titbit for those over there): Scunthorpe is apparently in Lincolnshire. How about that? I started to refer to this one as a South Yorkshire Derby, but when I checked to make sure it wasn't in East Yorkshire, it turned out to be in Lincolnshire! After a moment's thought, I should've known it wasn't in East Yorks, as it's bordered on the South by the Humber. Still, I though Scunny was in Yorkshire. Ya learn somethin' new every day.
I dunno we had 3 senior players on international duty but they're usually only bench warmers, it's probably because we have a small squad and didn't want to go into a match with a weakened bench. Another good performance and result today, feared the worst when Pompey equalised just after half time. Smith with 2 more goals the way he's going Wednesday will be signing him in January.
Another comprehensive win, apart from somehow losing to Wednesday and conceding 40% of our goals against in the Fleetwood match we've had a pretty solid season so far...
We beat Man City U21's in the Mickey Mouse cup 5-0 last night, one of their players cost them £9m I bet we can't even afford his wages.
Check out these League One graphs I found from a few weeks ago: https://experimental361.com/2021/10/07/scatter-graphics-league-1-3-oct-2021/ Looking good for us so far then!?
I'd say so far so good anyways. I'll need to look at that more thoroughly when I've been up for a while.
5under1and. The caption on the EFL highlights last night said "Millers maul Black Cats". We were already 3-1 up and dominant when they had a man sent off. Two great wins against MK Dons and Sunderland now we need to keep it going against the teams lower down in the table.
A couple of our Newcastle born/supporting players were a bit naughty, Smith did an Alan Shearer celebration and Barlaser just ignored the group hug and made a beeline straight for the Sunderland fans when the 3rd goal went in. It's good to see them playing well and enjoying things though.
'Alan Shearer celebration'? What's that? Just putting his right hand up and running away from the goal?
Yeah basically. Barlaser was a bit more obvious he just went directly over to them and celebrated in their faces. The majority of our goals were from wide crosses into the box they just couldn't handle them, so if after watching our match Moore doesn't play with plenty of width and you end up losing I'd sack him Tuesday night.
Disappointing to concede a late equaliser but a good point away from home I think and most other results went our way. A great night for Wigan.
