With the tournament formally awarded, it's time for a new thread. @Paul Calixte The bid evaluation report can be seen here. It was a joint bid submitted by the Moroccan Football Association, the Portuguese Football Federation and the Spanish Football Association, and the Centenary Celebration submitted by the Uruguayan Football Association (one match), the Argentinian Football Association (one match) and the Paraguayan Football Association (one match).
I would like to know the number of games hosted by Morocco, as this seems less and less like a European World Cup. Don't get me wrong, I was ok with some games in Morocco (given their many bid attempts historically) - but this looks more like a Spain and Morocco joint effort with some games in Portugal. And don't get me started on the opening matches in South America. This is the World Cup of compromises and I suppose the first proper World Cup in Western Europe since Germany 2006 will have to wait until 2042.
The proposed number of venues in each country probably gives a good indication of the number of matches planned for each. If more than half of the 104 matches are in Spain/Portugal, then you’ll have just as many there as in an old 32 team World Cup. No need to go to Morocco unless you’re following a specific team. I’m personally very exited for Morocco and think it’ll make for a good variety of locations to visit while still being very close to Spain.
I wouldn‘t expect too much. yes, moroccans are building a huge stadium and do a lot of PR stuff, but I would be very surprised if they get more than 20 games. something simmilar to what FIFA gave mexico, opening game maybe and that might be all we‘re going to find it out in approx 4 years
Yes, that was my thinking as well. I think they will add something extra to this tournament, so don't mind at all that they are hosting. One can even take a ferry there from Spain so travel should be easy enough.

Even if it is just a little true, I really hope my country never gets the Fifa WC in the future, because there’s no way Morocco is doing this and Fifa is unaware of it.
If true, so dumb and unnecessary. No idea what FIFA or anyone is afraid of. It would already be dumb to do this if the WC started next week. But its exponentially dumber when there is still 5+ years to "clean up the streets" and there exists proven practices that work more effectively over such a time frame.
