The movement against having another 32-club summer CWC in 2029 is gaining strength. https://www.uefa.com/news-media/new...b9c-1000--uefa-fifpro-europe-joint-statement/
But for a competition to be best in class in the world which is what the CWC is supposed to be it was a failure and would have been without Saudi Arabia funding it.
Should be one in 2033... Gotta be a clause in the contract... It's a warmup to their own world cup 2034. I don't mind the club world cup tbh.
I was wondering which football formation has won the most world cup in the world. https://futbor.com/read/football-formations-explained-4-4-2-to-modern-systems/14
Three Premier League clubs set to play in next Club World Cup as FIFA bid to expand tournament: https://www.goal.com/en-ae/lists/th...tournament-won-by-chelsea/blt64dcc8948f0f2ff9 I support the country limit increase to three. I do not support an expansion to 48 teams.
I am not really a fan of 48 expansion either. However, If it is truly a Club "World Cup" then maybe more teams from the World Should be represented? South America being represented by only Argentina and Brasil does make it a bit boring for the rest of South America for instance.
I'd say more countries should be represented if its going to be a true World Cup. Not necessarily more teams. FIFA clearly doesn't care about it being a true global event though, hence, the increase of the country limit from 2 to 3. I'm too lazy to double check but I think if the limit was 3 for the 2025 CWC we would have had even fewer countries represented (for e.g. didn't RB Salzburg only qualify because Barca, Arsenal, etc couldn't get in due to the country limit?).
