But for a competition to be best in class in the world which is what the CWC is supposed to be it was a failure and would have been without Saudi Arabia funding it.

Should be one in 2033... Gotta be a clause in the contract... It's a warmup to their own world cup 2034. I don't mind the club world cup tbh.

I am not really a fan of 48 expansion either.

However, If it is truly a Club "World Cup" then maybe more teams from the World Should be represented? South America being represented by only Argentina and Brasil does make it a bit boring for the rest of South America for instance.

I'd say more countries should be represented if its going to be a true World Cup. Not necessarily more teams.

FIFA clearly doesn't care about it being a true global event though, hence, the increase of the country limit from 2 to 3. I'm too lazy to double check but I think if the limit was 3 for the 2025 CWC we would have had even fewer countries represented (for e.g. didn't RB Salzburg only qualify because Barca, Arsenal, etc couldn't get in due to the country limit?).
