Buddy FIFA scammed the fans with insane ticket prices they are blocking people from bringing in water bottles into the stadium to charge them $10 for a water bottle (people are going to pass out form heat exhaustion), they are up charging train tickets by like 4x to extract more money. Sorry the reality is this thing is being bastardized like no World Cup previously by FIFA and the US hosts at the expense of the fans, this is just another example.
The water bottle thing is a safety issue. I can see dumb fans throwing them on the field. Happens a lot when Mexico plays matches in the USA and they are sore losers.
Buddy, here's the thing: you can like and dislike things selectively. I don't like how stupid prices are nor about the water aspect (they are still selling them regardless and for stupider prices) but you can still like it when GOOD things actually come out of it. The world cup is special. The world cup is why we, especially in these Colombian forums, regularly talk about national success. We make these tournaments a big deal.
Trust me I'm with you, I love the World Cup since I was a kid and am on the same page which is why I'm angry and disappointed in the lead up and I know a lot of people who feel the same way. It just feels gross like I've never felt before, Russia and Qatar had a lot of controversy but I didn't feel like this, FIFA has really over stepped in a lot of ways and it pisses me off because the World Cup means so much to me and so many.
The money gouging is a serious concern but im not as fussed because I've always refused to participate in large scale events. If you're someone thats rly into that stuff though then it's definitely a cause for concern. What annoys me is having to see every damn major tournament in the US. Im sick up to my balls of the freaking US for every single tournament. I don't want anymore US tournaments for the next 100 years minimum
The tournaments are in the USA because they make the most money in the USA. Once Covid occurred and we had inflation happen there really wasn’t any alternative that came close to breaking even let alone making profits. Cannot be angry about it.
