Who knows what FIFA will do. Time is of the essence though. Push comes to shove Iran may still just send their team. If they withdraw the Iranian Federation would have to pay back all their money that was rewarded to them for this tournament. They would also be fined according to FIFA statutes. They also would risk being suspended from future World Cups and Youth World Cups. It would be a hard pill for them to swallow. And the Asian Confederation is probably going to put pressure on them too.
why is Russia banned? also didn't a youth WC get taken by Arab country because they didn't want Israel at their tourney? how is the US not banned and why is the WC here? Seems like they don't 10x worst than both countries
1) Russia was banned due to Politics. FIFA had a lot of pressure from UEFA. There is absolutely no CONCACAF Nation or Federation putting pressure to take the World Cup away from the USA. In fact, it is the opposite because CONCACAF knows that if that happens Mexico and Canada won't be able to host this thing by themselves. 2) Wrong. It was not an Arab country. A Youth World Cup was taken away from Indonesia because they refuse to acknowledge Israel as a sovereign country. They also refused to host a participating team which is against FIFA regulations. 3) How is the US not banned? Because no one wants to ban them who has a brain.
Sweden some how qualified while not winning a single game in their group. Italy has a massive diaspora in the US... And if they somehow got in would likely drive up engagement quite a bit. Not sure why they wouldn't give Ireland the same favoritism too on same reasoning
Europe has its spots Iraq qualified (team who qualified in that region behind Iran) In that playoff Bolivia got knocked out. So it should be Bolivia. Or Bolivia vs Jamica giving another spot to Europe is just wild. Why not give Costa Rica a shot as well as china. Itโs just getting too late to move games out of the US. Moving groups would have made more sense with a team that mostly played in Canada or Mexico. but now it is not fair to the other teams fans. Like if I paid for flights hotel and tickets to Mexico to see my team but they move the games to the US I would be pissed but can def see people being super racist to Iran and Iraq this WC. But yea fifa wonโt say anything
Europe has its spots. This is true. But when you really do not have any rules set in stone as to how to replace a team then anything goes. It is up to FIFA to do whatever they want in a situation where a team declines to enter the tournament.

I am terrified of how the next world cup in 2030 will look like; and I am considering taking a position in Europe.
is it even worth going to there if you dont have a ticket? Im in Portland, about 3 hours from Seattle.. i can easily go there on a weekend but not sure if its worth it.. maybe the fan zone but i think you gotta sign up for that shii
What does "being super racist" look like??? You should learn a bit about the 1972 Olympiad in (West) Germany, then ask any surviving Israeli athletes what it looks like...

The crappy thing is Switzerland and Australia are playing in San Diego the night before. Hopefully they do a good job of keeping the playing surface clean and safe.
