I love how we fret and worry about not making it past the round of 16...What do you think Mexico or England feels after each WC?

Headlines on every English media website:
    BRAVE ENGLAND

Biggest bunch of bottlers as a country in the world.

    They revel in being losers.

    Tuchel is perfect for them.
    Like he was born English.

Packed it in vs. a bunch of old fossils.
    With the lead.

They deserve to be in the suckiest game in all of sports.

    The third-place game.

    I can't believe what I just saw.

Argentina is just undeniable. They did it... AGAIN.

It’s been like this forever. But I’m not going talk shit to elementary kids at my kids’ school, much as I want to.

    I’d say unrelenting.

I don’t know if there was anything England could have done. But bringing in a 5th defender… I mean, what can you say. Tuchel couldn’t have been unaware of what Argentina had done repeatedly throughout this tournament late in matches. In the end England was fortunate to have only lost 2-1.

By the way, an American officiating crew today. And they did very very well. Best performance by the US in this WC?

They also actually called fouls on Argentina. Clearly they didn’t get the memo.

Why did Bellingham slap the Argentinian after the game?

    This sounds like the set-up.
    What’s the punchline?

The one article I read after a quick search said some of the Argentines were celebrating right in front of the English, so it could have been taken as an insult. Although I'd say it's more likely that having just coughed up a semifinal in agonizing fashion, their emotional thermostats were set to nuclear and Bellingham lost his cool.

I don't know Bellingham all that well other than what I've seen in this tournament. From what I can tell, he's a really gifted player AND an asshole. This was a classless act, making me wonder if he was trying to sucker somebody into doing something stupid to take him down for the Final. He certainly wasn't trying to do damage -- my little sister's hit me harder than that.

Yup they were celebrating right in front of him. And the problem is he wasn’t moving. So if that’s the case…hey Jude, move.
I’d expect FIFA to serve up a healthy fine and or give a suspension.
    Problem is, its FIFA.

On another board, someone noted that Argentina's equalizer came in the ... wait for it ... 86th minute.

Celebrating a guy ... who injured himself celebrating a win ... in game he did not appear in.

This is Haslam Sports Group quality gaslighting.
