I’ll readily admit I’m a kit nerd, but I’ve given up trying to figure out FIFA’s decisions about who can wear what. No reason blue/white/red can’t go against red/blue/blue.
France is in real trouble. They have so much talent its hard to say toast on 60 minutes but its one hell of a hill.
So do you suppose Marc Cucarella would like to spend a few years living in Central Ohio. Maybe give him, like, New Albany or something. My God hes really something.
One funny thing about VAR--I've ben watching "For All Mankind", an alt-history show on Apple TV. One scene shows Maradona's Hand of God goal being disallowed in that history due to the earlier intro of VAR due to the technical advances in that timeline.
Can't decide whether I want their opponent to get the brakes beat off them or to lose in the dying moments.
And it would so.please La Princesa Leonor, who will be the first Queen of Spain in 150 years, who is my main crush. I would drink her bathwater. She is known to be a huge soccer fan. Update:Spanish media is reporting that Princess Leonor will attend the final, along with her sister Infanta Sophia. Be still my heart.
I know love is love, Bill, but try to leave your kinks at home. P.S. This is a joke. If you haven’t figured it out, I’m not easily offended ; )
My fandom appears to be the kiss of death this WC. I was rooting for France but, damn, Spain was superior in every facet of the game. I don’t particularly dislike Spain, so I can’t say I’m crushed by the result. Slightly disappointed, but mostly impressed by the Spanish. The better team won, period. Tomorrow, I’m far more heavily in England’s camp. Meaning you might as well pencil in a Spain-Argentina final.
There was no contest today, the better team won. France’s last two matches (like England’s) were played in sweltering heat, that might finally be catching up with them. They certainly didn’t look like themselves in this match.
Second time in two weeks that I've had to root for England. I'm going to need a long shower afterward but the Argentina Chiefs need to go away so:
France looked like a buzz saw until today. Maybe that’s what great teams do to their opponents with superstars, just make them look completely ordinary.
This seems to happen a lot in the WC a team looks nailed on putting in performances in the group stage and then slowly fizzling out during the knockouts - Argentina next please
