Just making shit up again. Portugal lost to shit teams all the time. Couldn’t even consistently qualify before Ronaldo.

Go outside. Sounds like you’re overcompensating and uncomfortable with the fact that you’re American.

Pseudo intellectuals are all the rage right now. Some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever read here. Portugal was robbed of its brave lol. Previous generations couldn’t even make the tournaments but they were they had that dawg and for some reason that’s better than winning something! All of that plus braindead continuing to move the goalposts for Ramos. So dumb ass shit in here.

The mass exodus of Zé Manuels in the 60s and 70s left Portugal barren of talent and courage, and now the Portuguese populace is a bunch of reserved pushovers. This is why they lose in tournaments. Such a tragedy.

    Wtf are you on about?

Portugal's recent substandard performances and results are almost entirely due to shitty management and who gets to play. That 2006 team you claim had that "dawg" tied with Liechtenstein in qualifying. The 2002 World Cup was a bigger failure than anything this generation has done.

The rest of your post is just insecure cringe that doesn't have anything to do with the NT.

Did you not read the part where I said "Dude this team is full of literal all stars at every position yet they get bitch slapped by the likes of Morocco, Georgia, South Korea, Slovenia, Denmark, Ireland.."

This CURRENT team should not be losing to inferior teams especially given our sheer quality of depth at every position. If you read next time you may fully comprehend.

Yeah our shitty defense and Diogo Costa not being able to stop a beach ball is definitely the manager's fault.. Got it..

Until this team grows a set, we will keep getting bitch smacked in the RO 16 or QF by teams we were heavily favored against.. If you can't accept that, then idk buddy

You think that the only people that leave when an economy is tanking is the working class. Bro you don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s one of the issues of migration when you drain the talent from an economy. This isn’t something new. If you think that there’s nothing wrong with the Portuguese mentality, especially in the major cities than I don’t know what to tell you.

I never said it was only the working class, I said it was mainly working class people leaving for economic reasons. It most certainly wasn't all the courageous and talented Portuguese who left Portugal solely because of Salazar. How did they manage to overthrow the regime if all the brave Portuguese supposedly left the country?

If there is something wrong with the 'Portuguese mentality', it's something that existed well before the Estado Novo. I'm well aware of that argument and the sort of people who make it. It's mainly leftist excuses as to why Portugal underperforms. It's a common theme in Portuguese politics; blame all your problems on Salazar.

But most importantly, none of this has anything to do with why Portugal loses in tournaments. Portuguese football is at the highest level it's ever been, the academies keep churning out talent, the youth teams keep winning. This whole narrative about how they were better back in the day because they had a stronger mentality is nonsense.

When did Portuguese Americans changed their names??? If anything they are too proud. Always hanging the Portuguese flag on their houses. At least they put the American flag on top though.

I know Portuguese in Portugal like to joke about being lazy in reddit. Really weird and shocking to me. Portuguese Americans, and Portuguese Canadians have a reputation for being hard workers. Not sure about the Portuguese in other European countries. I also noticed no one works out in Portugal. There are no gyms.

I never said we aren't hard workers. FFS all we do is work. My point stands, our culture is far too respectful and care way too much about what others think. Our squad plays down to our opponents when we are heavily favored and we let them get into our heads. DAWG MENTALITY.. WE NEED THAT BACK IF WE WANT TO GO FAR IN THIS WC.. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I went to school with dozens of people who had Irish last names, they told me they were Portuguese, I asked why their name is Perry or Rogers and they explained their family changed it when they arrived to America to fit in.. Where are you that this isn't common knowledge.. Here in Massachusetts it is extremely common to see Portuguese last names that were shortened or outright changed..

Thanks agreed. And if you ever bother to read I said Ramos has his positives but they are not enough to start over Ronaldo.

Again reading and logic must be so difficulty in an age where liberals can't define what a woman is.

Plenty of ethnic groups did that, it's not something unique to Portuguese people because they're pushovers or whatever.

He organizes the tactics, puts players out of position, doesn't pick the best players available. And that's just the backline. So yeah, it is partly his fault.

I see nothing has changed in here, you’re still the same as always and your ball knowledge has gone backwards from a very low start. You throw around nonsense about woke fringes that have nothing to do with football let alone construct a coherent argument. This forum use to be decent but people like you have completely ruined it.
