I just realized besides Portugal, we have never faced any of these countries before. I think it mutual for everyone else in this group.

    Not that high sadly. Screenshot_20260610_151307_Kalshi.jpg

Though you think a draw would be more likely but Portugal is rated that high.

Not only is Ronaldo a big net negative on the field for Portugal its also completely tearing apart that dressing room and fan base that he starts and plays 90, because its clear that the players are sick of his ego and know he's washed.

Didn’t the same thing happen in 2022 where cr7 got benched for Ramos and they won 6-0 and then lost the next game when cr7 played more

You wanna retire Ronaldo? Let's retire Ronaldo.

Of course, assuming that they draw again and we get a convincing win over Congo, setting us up to finish off Portugal.

Uzbekistan will have confidence and desperation; they will likely throw everything they can against Portugal. They smell blood in the water.

A tie vs Portugal after they tie ubekistan = elimination

we need to win to have the easiest path forward but more pressure on them for not being congo(if we beat Congo)

    rather play Ghana than England/Croatia

Whether they play him or not isn't their biggest issue: they don't play like a team. I barely saw Ronaldo getting the ball and zero real proper chances. They don't make runs as a whole and don't show any versatility. This is an issue that goes beyond Ronaldo but that's just me.

Martinez is an incompetent coach, he's a gift to us. Portugal still has lots of quality and we need to raise our game regardless if we want to go far in this tournament. I think Congo is probably going to come out cagey and keep the game close and try to nick a goal, they will be organized and aggressive in a defensive block and unlike the Uzbecks if we make a mistake or give up silly turnovers they have players to punish us and the discipline to force mistakes from us.

Yes. We need our guys to show up. Suarez to look like he does in Champions League, Lucho to be the best LW in the world, Munoz the best RB in the premier League, etc. there are no bad teams anymore in these tournaments.

Idk if these guys will admit it but the weather is borderline health hazardous too. Those poor Eastern Europeans have no idea what they got themselves into

I’d keep the same starting 11 as vs Congo think with more space that team could work well

then the subs do we need pace with Gomez/Campaz for James or is the game open and we need Quintero

same with the strikers. Cucho is better than Cordoba but do we need a goal or hold up play

So this game being a expensive ticket makes way more sense now…

we need to make a statement and be way less wasteful up top most top teams will only give us 2-3 chances to score it can’t take 18 shots to make 1 goal

agreed - i think Suarez still has a role with the team, but Cordoba and Cucho have done more to contribute to goals in less minutes.

Yes - Suarez was challenged by going up against 8 defenders for the majority of both games, but it's good to have new legs and mentality to come in as a sub.

Against Portugal - the style of game is going to be completely different and a lot of the pressure has been reduced, but this is where Nestor and lineup management need to start coming into play for us, especially since he only used 3 subs against DRC

Portugal won't park the bus like Congo. They will certainly open up. Though the battle for goal opportunities will be the most competitive we have to deal with in this match.
