Well. I wouldn't consider Messi and Dybala the same race as Lautaro and Lisandro Martinez. All 4 perfectly Argentine, of course.
It's like being about to become a world champion but losing to Saudi Arabia in the process, which snapped Argentina's streak one shy of us, lol. Every team always has an off day (like us vs North Macedonia to miss out in the last WC), and the best team doesn't always win.
Just finished watching the game. I don't believe in curses but England is cursed. Never in my lifetime will I see a team this dominant never win shit. Back to back Euro finalist and two time World Cup semifinalist.
Argentina without a doubt. Spain like many of the top Euro teams are our rivals. We share ancestry with many Argentinians.
That Saudi game will long live in the memory. I celebrated that like a world cup final , what a roller coaster. Argentina had about 75 goals disallowed in the first half and then the unthinkable in the second. And Italia's record in tact. Now about to be broken because penalties don't count F off The unofficial world champion is in our nations league group though so we'll have plenty of opportunities to win it LOL
Um, those of us old enough to remember Spain 82 or Italia 90 will always understand that while the Argentinians have our blood, they clearly are very nationalistic for their own country. If anything, we Italians need to be more patriotic about our homeland and country. This is a tough one. I'd ordinarily cheer for Argentina, but I don't think they've been the best team of the tournament and Spain deserves it at this point. Plus, it's nice only sharing 4 stars with Germany.
Iker Casillas: No habrá una 4ª ⭐️, 🇦🇷! Vamos a por la 2ª!! Vamos 🇪🇸!— Iker Casillas (@IkerCasillas) July 15, 2026 There won't be a 4th ⭐️, ! We're going for the 2nd!! Let's go, !
I already went over this, but guess you just don't see it the way I do. Tuchel was always a shit coach for England. I would gladly take a foreign manager to get to the semi finals than the shit we have been going thru. Any day.
It's not Tuchel's fault. It wasn't his fault against Croatia in 2018 or Italy in 2021 or France in 22 or Spain in 24 or tonight. The fault is in the English system. They aren't as good as they think they are. They won't ever admit it, but they don't prioritize close control, touch, and skill the way other countries do. It routinely comes back to bite them when their midfields can't keep possession in key moments of the game.
Este domingo se juega la Finalissima… y el Mundial! Prepara los 2 trofeos @FIFAWorldCup !— Iker Casillas (@IkerCasillas) July 15, 2026 This Sunday, the Finalissima takes place... and the World Cup! Get the two trophies ready.
Tuchel deserves a lot of the blame. He iced Rashford, Saka, Madeuka, and Toney. If that happened to us with those quality of players, Italy would be going for our managers head. You also know how? Even when they were winning, England was still pissed at him. It's bc he was never good for them. You wonder why one of their two best players Jude had a falling out with him.
Tuchel essentially treated the final 30 like the Mexico game, albeit now with an extra man with no red card. Shocker. Argentina is not Mexico and made them pay. No wasted possession tossing away chances this game. I do agree with the sentiment that not at least trying to give yourself an option to relieve the pressure was ridiculous. They have options on the bench. The English are also completely delusional about their team as we have known for years. The other team basically is not playing in their minds - it's just what England does or allows them to do, lol. In short; both things can be true regarding Tuchel and English fans.
Yes normally I don't want Spain near anything good, but I'd rather they win just to keep the 4 star club exclusive for now
The problem is none of the players you mentioned really would allow England to maintain more possession and dictate tempo. They might have counter-attacked better though. In the end, England lacks a Kroos, Pirlo, Modric, Pedri etc. They have always lost the ball too easily. They are the most overrated team I remember in my lifetime (and that's saying a lot). They are a bit of a bump up from the USA...lots of great athletes and size but lacking skill.
Just bc they couldn't beat us in the Euros, Argentina World champs and Spain Euro champs does not mean they are overrated. Sure they don't have a controller but Jude, Rice, and Anderson are all world class players. They are constantly getting to or very near the end (except 2022 WC). They have been a consistent top 3-4 team in the world for a very long time imo.
i'd argue they have been more lucky than good. Here's their run of knockout round opponents over the last 10 years. their wins against legit teams in the last 10 years were Germany (in maybe their worst era), and Netherlands i guess. Euro 2016: Lost to Iceland World Cup 2018: Colombia (penalties) Sweden Lost to Croatia Euro 2020: Germany Ukraine Denmark (AET) *asterisk won with penalty off Sterling dive Lost to Italy World Cup 2022: Senegal Lost to France Euro 2024: Slovakia (AET) Switzerland (Penalties) Netherlands Lost to Spain
I made a comment on facebook a week ago about how spence, saka, guehi etc arent even english and also spoke about international footnall in general and how this happens with a lot of teams. I was hammered by england fans, told i was jealous as italy have mssed 3 consecutive world cups. I politely reminded people italy have won 4 world cups and 2 euro finals and won 6 out of 10 finals in total also reminded then of euro 2021 final at wembley and said people need to remain humble and be respectful to other countries. I rest my case, its always the same with england fans they insult everyone and feel they are better than everypne, they dismiss everyteam in the big games and then lose. They may win if they showed more respect.
