Yes, and this why I believe the attendance at 1990 wasn't the greatest. Given Serie A was an unbeatable strong league back then what's the interest to go watch Egypt or Ireland?
Yes, I think he was going to sign for Milan. Ridiculous people. Reminds me of the 2024 Copa America Final when a fair number of them broke into the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami through the HVAC ducts. WTF? Uncivilized behavior.
Spain-France. Who do we prefer? Spain has 1 world cup. France has 2. So I think we prefer Spain? However there is a record we currently hold. The unbeaten streak of 37 games. Spain has 36. Is this a reason to prefer France though? I still think we prefer Spain. And of course tomorrow we prefer England because Argentina has already 3 World Cups. What do you guys think of all this?
I can't believe this, but I am hoping for Spain. I'm not as upset about England as others. Whatever. I just don't like France but I won't be surprised or necessarily mad. I really want Argentina to stay at 3 stars. Unlike others, this final four just doesn't do it for me. The world cup should be fantastical, this is anything but. I fear all other editions will be like this one, in that the dark horses which eventually flame because you're asking them to win one more game than normal. World cups have proven over time only certain nations can win a lot of world cup games, so dark horses will flame out at earlier stages. Kinda boring. I've enjoyed the ride up to the QFs but this is just boring as f from this point forward. What was the point of it all...we could have dropped these four teams into a semifinal from the start. If that's considered exciting, I'll gladly be a contrarian.
Sent to me by a PSG & France fan (i'm just the messenger) "So for the France vs Spain the ref will be Ivan Barton, known for making games about himself and handing out red cards, which means whoever advances is likely to have a suspension or 2. For Argentina v England we get a MLS ref… the same league the protects and coddles Messi."
I really don't know how to support or feel towards these four truthfully. I can make cases against all. Just a lesser of evils type of situation for whatever is your preference. Bring on mayhem, carnage, and drama.
Our 4 world cups remain a huge honor and I just don’t want Argentina equalising us or France reaching their 3rd. It’s a miracle we are still second (with Germany) behind Brazil, since we haven’t participated in the last 3! editions
history is long adding a second Euro was massive for the pantheon. If Messi were to win back to back world cups with this Argentina it would be a miracle that you'd just have to stand in awe of. We didn't win a world cup between 38 and 82. If we can win another in my lifetime I would be very happy. I have seen Italy do it all by the age of 37. I picked England/Portugal before the tournament because I did not see this Spain winning a Euro and World Cup back to back or this Argentina winning two world cups and then France would have to win two of three with three straight finals. History pointed to a new champion but we will see now that the tournament has carried on France do look that dominant.
This Ref forgot his spray (FK Wall). Has a dumb laugh over it. What a joke. What's his credentials to ref such a match?
I'll take countries getting a 4th or 3rd over England getting a first (sorry, their "first one" doesn't count).
Oyarzabal is likely the only Spaniard footballer I would exempt from the obligatory Tassotti treatment.
I hate that type of call. Who is making a legitimate soccer play on the ball there? Digne is. Yamal is diving in clearly looking to bait the foul and induce contact.
Frances two man midfield is being suffocated this is why you don't play a front 4 against a midfield 5
was wondering if it was possible to win a world cup with Rabiot in your starting eleven. We'll find out! Don't know why you'd go white when you can... nevermind
Yep. Also, going down a goal really hurts a team like France who is so nasty on the counter. They need to provide some answers in the midfield or Spain will try to choke out the game. Rabiot being on a yellow does not hope. Kone played extremely well for them in this tournament from what I've seen.
Spain have the numerical advantage in midfield. As a result, France are bypassing the midfield with long balls. They're not wasting their time trying to build an attack. Ball into space for Mbappe to latch on to it.
