Kone has the tools to take over a game when he puts his mind to it. Just sort of a tools guy who can lack the toolbox sometimes, but man he is deadly when his mind is in the game. Canada absolutely took it to Bosnia despite the scoreline. Bosnia really looked poor. I thought that actually was one of the better matches I've seen Canada play outside of their play in the final third obviously. Killed a lot of plays being sloppy in transition, too. I thought LDF had a really good game too all things considered at CB. Cornelius was a total mess.

For sure. I felt they were hard done by today, all things considered. The big thing was to obviously at least get a draw which they did. Zero points out of today for them would have been a very tough pill. I just shook my head when Jonathan David put that muffin on net early. Felt like it would be one of those games for Canada in the final third.

Bosnia also should have taken the 2-0 lead after Cornelius made an awful clearance right to Demirovic who took too long to finish one vs one with the keeper. All things considered 1-1 was fair. Bosnia simply has no midfield and their manager is too afraid to play Alahbegovic because he wants to defend in a flat 442. In the end we know that Canada can play well in terms of tempo and pressing but they lack a final touch and finishing in their squad so it's not so much unlucky as it is a typical Canada performance. At the Copa they got through being tough to beat but they struggled to score goals. JD has a lot of goals for Canada but very few in big games.
Fair enough. You are right about Bosnia's midfield. They got eaten alive today and had no answer whatsoever. Cornelius legitimately looked like he had two left boots on today. Horrible performance. LDF saved their backline playing with poise and presence. Still cannot believe we met our fate with these guys. Gattuso terrorist ball or not -- just not a good side. But neither were we. Just know that likely we play it out 11v11 we would have be fine. Granted, we need the reboot. Anyways, onwards.
Yes Bosnia are actually very good across the pitch they simply have no midfielders so their manager does not trust them to play on the front foot but if you look at their defence and attack they are better than a lot of teams that are ranked higher than them like Paraguay for example. Even their keeper has good sofa scores in the Bundesleague for St Pauli. Demirovic Alhabegovic Dedic Muharemovic Kolasanic Barkatervavic would all start for Canada Mexico Paraguay etc but it goes to show how important a midfield is because their midfielders play in Kazakstan and Cyprus. Kone and Eustaquio make the difference.
