Sorry if this is late, but just wanna say I was neutral on the NOR v ENG match until Norway was robbed over and over. Hoping ARG wins just so they can smash Eng er land.

England and Argentina have been similar to me this tournament—unconvincingly scraping by against lesser competition but advancing nonetheless. I feel like England is a bit better at closing up shop when they want to, so maybe England takes the semi if they can get a lead.

 

His problem is that he overthinks things. He made all of those deeply thought out tactical changes, but somehow missed how taking out Rice significantly hindered their ability to control the midfield, and therefore dictate how the game is played. England has more talent than Norway at most positions, but the gap isn’t so great that they should expect a comfortable win against them.

 

England has more talent, but Argentina has more self belief. It will be an interesting game, assuming they hold on against Switzerland.

If I’m England I’m worried that Rice, Saka, and James all appear to be less than full strength as three fairly critical players for them.

They should be Argentina I think but Messi just always seems to find a way.

I think Rice was a sub he didn’t have a choice on but he didn’t quite pick the roster correctly I think. Has mostly done a good job in tournament though.
