Second game in a row with an American starting, which is kinda crazy. Canadian announcers are very complimentary of Suzuki. Which they should be. He'd likely be starting for us if he'd switched.

    2. If points are equal then points scored in the games between the respective teams.
    3. Goal difference between the teams involved
    4. Goals scored between the teams involved
    5. Goal difference in the group
    6. Goals scored in the group
    7. Disciplinary record
    8. FIFA rankings

If there are more than 2 teams in the tie we can go through steps 2, 3 and 4 multiple times as each team finds its place.

He lived most of his life in Japan, I wouldn’t claim him as American.

You think there are a lot of them coming up in Japan? Seems unlikely.

It's interesting to see that both the Japan women's and men's teams have moved toward more transition-based play, at least against elite opponents.

    Not me,

There are absolutely two things that I find absolutely intolerable.

People who are intolerant of other peoples' cultures.............and the Dutch

James Cordon is insufferable and lame. Brendan Hunt should be doing these comedic pieces.

    Not even close.
Also, consider how tricky a relationship Japanese society has with "foreigners" vs. "Japanese". It's extremely hard to be considered "Japanese"... except if you play for Japan in sports for some reason!

Lars Nootbar, Zion Suzuki, Naomi Osaka, etc. Beloved by a big segment of Japan, and that is a big deal I'm sure.

Also, Japan forbids dual-nationality for adults when they reach 22, so if you give up your other citizenship or however many you have (as Naomi Osaka did in 2019, and I'm sure the others did as well) to play for Japan, I'm pretty sure you've committed. To the country and to the National team(s).
