Next 10 minutes are huge for this sub-forum since Canada and Bosnia might be the two most likely teams to end up facing the Group D winner.

Maybe use the quicker guys to wear out the bigger Bosnian guys and then bring Larin on was the thought. You can see Bosnia fading.

I actually think his style is better suited for the international than club game IF your country's player pool happens to have a bunch of guys who can run all day and they can spend more time playing together than international teams typically get these days. Ironically I think it actually would've worked well for the US teams of the 90s through early 10s, but not as much now.

There are similarities between the gegenpress and what the US used to do particularly in the 02 WC trying to turn every game into a track meet.

"Our team was a little too excited to start but once they calmed down and started following my plan we gained the upperhand and we tied the game." - Marsch post game.

And would think the loser (if there is one) would probably be a more likely opponent of the 2, assuming both teams beat Qatar handily?

The Italian TV commentators are gushing about Marsch and his substitution choices.

TBH, Canada came out of the half with the kind of swarming energy that Marsch preaches.

Another goal should be devastating for either side

In comparison, US TV was questioning the decision to take off Jonathan David.

A draw is fair, but harsh for Canada...

Prob fair result. Bosnian keeper and CBs look good. Neither team should worry the contenders.

Honestly, that's 2 points dropped by Canada. Should have won that match comfortably. It won't matter much for now - but they need to be more clinical.

Canada was the better side in the second half. Very likely that this group ends up Swiss/Canada/Bosnia in order now.

Well, that's Canada's first result (and second goal) in history, and it was earned. Marsch was a positive for Canada. Bosnia defended well and had just a tad bit of quality where it counted that Canada generally didn't until Larin came on.

To Canada's credit, they were probably better, against a much better opponent, than Mexico was yesterday even with their two-goal win.

They’ll get out of the group, but not getting the might cost them a realistic shot at winning the group and getting a favorable R32 matchup.

Finishing is part of the game

From a US perspective--gotta think this leaves Bosnia as our most likely opponent in R32 if we win our group. I think Switzerland wins the group but Canada seems a lot more likely than Bosnia both to get a result against the Swiss and to put a GD padding beating on Qatar.

You have no idea how much I'd enjoy a R32 match in the Bay Area against Canada.

I've got tickets to that game... Pulling hard for that matchup although unlikely now unless Canada shits the bed vs Qatar

Excellent, but why would it be unlikely? The Swiss are the odds-on favorites to win the group. If we win the group and get that match, we won't play the top group B side, but the second-place, no?

Based on that game, I'm not particularly worried about either should we meet in the Round of 32.

    I'd rather face Bosnia, though.

Canada may get healthier as the tournament progresses. Davies and others..........................

I still contend that Qatar will get ONE result in this group. One draw that will ruin somebody's day.
