Obviously no as Serie A has a lot of much better teams but for sure those at the bottom are not champions in MLS. The real question is has the US (and a lot of other teams) pass by Italy and the answer is yes, even had we played their qualifying schedule over that time period we would have done better at least a few of them.
There's becoming a very plausible chance that Guatemala vs Suriname could be a World Cup Play in Match. Would be incredible
One of the luckier deflections you'll ever see gets Suriname a 2nd and as I type this they get a 3rd. Goal differential may be about to take a hard swing their way
There might be three proxy World Cup Qualifying finals depending on results tonight. Honduras go into CR next game.. Curaçao visit Di Office for their last game.. And then the one you mentioned in El Trebol.. CONCACAF activities
So on to Panama/Guatemala If Guatemala win, Suriname will only need a tie on Tuesday to qualify for The World Cup (We'd be guaranteed a WC debutant between them and Guatemala) If it's a tie, Suriname will only need a tie on Tuesday IF Panama fail to be El Salvador by more than 4 goals If Panama wins, Suriname will need to match Panama's result on Tuesday (and Suriname is on the road while Panama is at home against the worst team in the group). It'd likely put them in a must win spot
Well it took a few minutes for Curacao to earn a penalty, they're up 1-0 which now puts the pressure on Jamaica to match that or they're gonna have a must win situation on Tuesday night
Jamaica have looked awful tonight in the Hasley Crawford. So much so that unless something drastically happens at half, I think The Soca Warriors could walk away with a very favorable result. They've been knocking on the door all half long. Jamaica resorting to long ball after long ball.
This is a crazy line up for Los Ticos.. Ugalde starts from the bench, while Celso Borges gets the nod tonight against a Haiti team desperate to gain a result tonight... Bellegarde vs Borges seems like an awful match up, especially on a sketchy synthetic pitch tonight... Así salen los ticos 🙌 pic.twitter.com/wNEqjoamm8— Concacaf (@Concacaf) November 14, 2025
Reggae Bwoys find the back of the net on a vicious counter. RENALDO CEPHAS DROPPED HIM 😱😱😱Jamaica get a HUGE goal in their hopes of qualifying for their first World Cup since 1998 🔥 pic.twitter.com/45HDxFgB52— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) November 14, 2025
There's something truly hilarious with T&T finding the equalizer in the closing minutes. Jamaica just really wants to be a '98 one and done.
Could be wrong but it looks like concacrap ref has officially decided Jamaica and T&T can basically break each other's ankles if they want to play that way, no fouls gentleman, no fouls.
This was much deserved. Justice from the Footy Gods TRINIDAD & TOBAGO STUN JAMAICA LATE 😱AS IT STANDS CURAÇAO TOP THE GROUP WITH ONE GAME LEFT 👀 pic.twitter.com/C3uEMIx7I0— CBS Sports Golazo ⚽️ (@CBSSportsGolazo) November 14, 2025
I'm late but I was super happy to see El Salvador go out. I turned it on not rooting for anyway, but immediately saw an El Salvador player come in super hard on a guy nowhere near goal for no apparent reason, make no play on the ball, just to be rough. Nation calls a foul, and the dude waves his finger at nation even though it was an American football style tackle in its physicality. Nation is clearly running over to talk to him and he walks away, pretending he can't hear him so the ref has to chase him down for like 20 steps. He gives him a yellow and the dude acts like it's insane even though their entire gameplan is just hit people in pretty much every game. At that point, I thought to myself: I could never be a ref, because I would ******** over El Salvador so badly if that dude did that to me. And lo and behold, Nation later calls a foul on El Salvador that they think is FOR them, Suriname takes the quick restart, Nation lets it go even though it's clearly basically on goal, and then calls the pen. Justice against those football terrorists, but I also wouldn't blame Nation that much if some of that was because of El Salvador's play and reaction.
Haiti has the lead in Curaçao over Los Ticos. Who else, but Frantzy Pierrot! Don't look now but Les Grenadiers are squarely back in the picture.
How hilarious and awesome and wonderful would it be if with all these tickets available, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, and Jamaica, all trip over themselves and little Suriname, Curacao and ravaged Haiti qualify directly instead? I know, it's a dream, a good one though.
I really like this referee in the Panama Guatemala match. He's not taking any of the Panamanians' crap.
Shiiiittt, it just might happen. Haiti host Nicaragua.. Suriname go to Guatemala in a cycle where they've been bonafide road warriors. And Curaçao seem to have found a moment of gold that'll travel with them to a really disappointing Jamaica.
Need that Lombardi clip on a day/night like this. What a great collection of crazy --- matches. Even my wife is suddenly interested.
Haiti's the most heart warming of the possibilities. After all the heart ache out there, they host El Salvador, and Honduras play Costa Rica with it all on the line, and Navas trying for one last hurrah. I wouldn't be surprised at a Costa Rica and a Haiti victory next week and man would that be awesome for Haiti, qualify directly. So cool. I hope it happens.
Nicaragua* And man atp anything can happen. My girl is Haitian, so her dad is in Dreamland right now about this. I already scored 6 World Cup tickets so hopefully we'll catch Les Grenadiers if they manage to qualify.
