Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, NY City, Austin, Minnesota, and San Jose are in the Leagues Cup so they are not on the list to be seeded. And then they add the extras teams to fill out the Open Cup: So the actual Western Conference seeds should be: Colorado Houston St. Louis Kansas City The East would be: New York Red Bull New England Atlanta DC United I believe that they are guaranteeing the bottom teams to host in the US Open Cup since they do not host in the Leagues Cup which all MLS teams entered get to do. I got an email today from the Dynamo saying to watch out for news about tickets for the Open Cup game that Houston will be hosting.
