Limits participation in the She Believes Cup to CONMEBOL teams. CONCACAF Nations League resumes in late Feb., OFC qualifiers are end of Feb., Asian Cup starts in early March, WAFCON 2026 is March 17 - April 3.
What are the supposed dates of the SheBelieves Cup? USA will make sure not to invite Japan again, if they want to win.
We like revenge games and we've had some with Japan already--the payback in WC 2015 was sweet! Because the punishment in 2011 was so cruel!
At least it's always useful to play Brazil and the closer to WC 2027 the better. Hopefully Colombia cab be included as well.
Matches between teams from the top 10 usually tend to be highly competitive, and then there is the aspect mentioned by @Allende72 . For this reason, I doubt that Japan will decide to participate in SheBelieves less than a month before the start of the AFC Cup. Little rest time between the matches and the risk of accidental injury is too great.
https://digitalhub.fifa.com/m/4689d...-s-International-Match-Calendar-2026-2029.pdf Got this calendar off FIFA's site and it shows February window 2026 is Feb. 24 to March 7 and can include 3 games. NWSL 2026 regular season starts March 13, though the Challenge Cup between KC Current and Gotham FC will be February 20.
It's been confirmed the She Believes Cup will be during that window. So no CONCACAF teams unless Canada opts in.
Having to be in early round of Concacaf Qualifying sucks for Mexico. I wouldn't mind playing the full Canadian team (unlike the weaker one we played last July).
Any former February tournaments can't happen because of everyone participating in some kind of Nations League or World Cup qualifications.
Indeed the international calendar reform combined with women's football professionalisation has killed the February/March tournaments

Awaiting confirmation, but the 2026 COSAFA Women's tournament will be held Feb. 24 - March 7. Possibility of 16 teams as a warmup to the WAFCON championship.
Dates confirmed as Feb. 18 - March 1 now. Confirmed participants: South Africa, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho. Awaiting confirmation on the other COSAFA assocations participating.

WAFU region will have their own mini-tournament prior to the 2026 WAFCON. Tournament will feature Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria & Senegal.
all 14 assocaitions of COSAFA are expected to participate. Draw is being held on Thursday. Have also heard Mali & Tanzania has asked to join the tournament as a guest to prep for the WAFCON.
Mali and Tanzania were denied guest spots in the tournament. Which is bizarre since only 11 COSAFA teams entered. Seychelles, Mauritius and Comoros aren't participating.
