Those still happen once in a while, but there is more money in international teams playing each other while MLS teams don't want to disrupt their schedule too much.
They will start to happen more often starting next summer with the schedule change. Thoise friendlies will be preseason for all parties next summer.

The EPL tour games on the 25th are on ESPN Deportes. Wrexham vs Liverpool is on ESPN up against the MSL ASG on Apple TV. Then on the 30th we have Leeds vs Sunderland on ESPN2. Liverpool vs Leeds is on ESPN Deportes again but Sunderland vs Wrexham is on ESPN, both on August 2.

Leeds with the 4-2 come from behind win against Liverpool in Chicago with 49,128 in attendance. Highest attendance of the premiere league tour.
Sunderland 1 - wrexham 0 in Chester as wrexham lost every game of their tour. 16,967 in attendance in Philadelphia. This concludes this year's friendly season.
Seems like summer friendlies here used to be marketed as a bigger deal. Now they kind of just happen in the background.
That's progress! I would also imagine that next summer, these friendlies will have a bigger impact seeing as MLS' season will start up in mid-late July. So early July could see some MLS club friendlies against foreign clubs.
