To follow up on stanger's post ... and to possibly confirm ... ParkMobile sent me an email in early January ... as a previous Astor Park garage season package purchaser ... "Secure your Astor Park parking for 2026." Yet ... for two weeks ... I had to have a promo code to buy Astor Park. I checked almost daily ... and when the promo code was no longer required ... bought the package. And posted here about availability. So ... yeah, I feel there is an exclusive window in early January and it's for Huntington Club, Ledge, etc. (High-end premium STH, not all).
I bought Astor Park Garage early last month, no code, don't think they had any way to identify me as any kind of STH, just used the ParkMobile ap. I finally decided the $460-some bucks was worth it because, to coin a phrase, getting around isn't as easy as it used to be.
Plus at least 500 more premium ticket holders this year, assuming they sold those seats Also perhaps incompetence at play. We have this FO, a parking app known for goofs, and the city of columbus, where its city officials forget to pay for parking.

That would require them to actually write them. I'm certainly not going to call 311 on someone parked on the street for 75 hours, but there's been a car parked in the same spot since before the snow storm, basically 2½ weeks ago. I called 311 a few days ago and crickets. Before the snow storm, there was a big crash that resulted in a flipped car and 2-3 other cars that were crashed into. One of them had the back window smashed out and was there for...I think for about 10 days before it was finally moved. OTOH, there was someone parked in the same spot for several months. Eventually, the license plates disappeared and then a window was smashed. Columbus PD? They did the thing that had to be done. Parking on the wrong side of the street? That's just a citation about once every 20 years. I've seen their parking enforcement officers drive by stuff I've gotten tickets for. Calling in to let them know about an illegally-parked car? "Are you calling in just to complain?" Oh and if you want to add another permit to your account, too bad. (You'd think they'd actually want the money.) Columbus parking...where "No Stopping Any Time" is merely a suggestion.
My Applebee's waitress says it's gonna be Steven Perkins, formerly of Jane's Addiction, but it's gonna be a hell of a long wait before things start moving again. (Like don't expect anything before the MLS Playoffs.)
On two streets ive lived in in columbus, SoHud and North of Grandview South of Fifth, ive seen them give a parking in the same spot for more than 72 hours ticket. Next street over there was an abandoned car for 2 months. Then back when I lived in Olentangy village, private of course, a 100k merc was parked crooked for a year. Then one day a taxi pulls up, someone gets out with luggage, gets in the car, and drives away.
Then drive into Linden and see cars halfway on the sidewalk and cars parked wrong way on both sides of the street. The GPS says turn right and you'll see cars pointing towards you on both sides of the street making you think you turned the wrong way down a one-way street. The city could make bank in that neighborhood, but they'd never ticket there.
One issue for a long time was that they ran out of space in the impound lot and legally were not allowed to dispose of the cars. Some rules have changed since then. We've heard a fair bit about this in our community council and civic association meetings. One other issue is that CPD is rather understaffed. The city had grown a lot an still has pretty muc the same number of police they had 15+ years ago. PM me on what part of town you are in. I do know folks. Not sure I can help, but I can try. You do need your 311 report number too.
Oddly enough, I saw a police "this car hasn't moved" notice on a car parked a block or two away within the last few months. Parking Violations Bureau = Level 1 tech support (have you tried unplugging it? Ok, we'll send a tech.) Columbus Police = Tier 2, Office of the President, etc. (We'll stay with your case until it's resolved vs forgetting about it when the call ends.)
Add to that your local City Community Liaison. Ours in Northland is Devin Deal. Great guy to work with. He really does stay with the case.
Umm, Nova's bestie is happy to write tickets most of the time, and those things would not be subject to "hanging around a minute to see if someone is going to come out or not" before issuing a ticket. Most of her work is Short North all the way up to Campus. IDK how it works in other areas of town. Or where you are talking about. But if you have something you think should be ticketed, let me know and I'll try to pass it along.
Their assignments are very specific, they are not just roaming the region. And side roads don't get much attention at all, it is always the main roads.
Astor is available on Park Columbus again. $500 now tho for the season. 6 Arena garage season packages are available on Arena District Parking. No idea about surface lots.
That's why our civic assn often works with our police area liaison as well as 311 and their area liaison. We had a problem with cars parking the wrong way--and it finally got fixed. It did tke a bit tho.
I just got a survey about the switch to the new calendar and various questions about a membership group for season ticket holders. My first thought was that it reminds me a lot of the short-lived season ticket legacy group. My second thought was "Doesn't a membership group already exist? What could they be doing here?
Sounds like they just want to call us something other than STM. I wrote that doesnt really do much. You need to foster community not name it. I gave them a few ideas of how fans would feel more involved and welcomed into a third forum (edit: guess i should have said third place, it has been 13 years since i took sociology). I also said they will need to keep up with the spending if they hope to attract the talent they were saying would come
There is a whiff of panic with the positioning of the survey questions. Schedule change STH renewals STH member club Facial recognition They are trying to level-set on where the STH base is even at right now. And what will retain them through paying for a hokey short-season. . Probably have had a year plus of getting blasted from Cleveland game, first round exits, schedule change.
They are probably also trying to see how many fans actually realized the plan for 2027 and beyond. The crew released more tickets for the home opener, still there are less <1000 available.
I just bought it parking in the Astor Parking Garage on Monday. The passes still aren't fully loaded. It only shows the dates with $0 next to it and you can't click on it. Should I be worried or do they not get loaded until closer to the first home game?
