Their insistence that he leave on a fee, instead of simply letting him leave and freeing up space on their books frankly doesn't make sense. Similar note, I presume we are leaving the DP slot unused since Turner is TAM and if they add anyone now, they clearly won't be joining the team until Next April, other than a couple training sessions and a 10 minute run in the season finale.
Turner will continue to occupy the DP slot until we sign someone else who needs it. Just because he is TAM eligible doesn't mean we should immediately spend the money to do it. GAM rolls over from season to season now, so leaving him in the DP slot until we actually make the signing saves us $1m GAM

If they do bring in a DP now, that player would be able to finish this season (my cynical self says probably 3 games like last year's DP signing) but also get in the sprint season next year.
Unless I missed if after a quick search, it appears the Revs are adding a Sounders HG in a trade. Not sure what we're giving up for the defender.

The Leeds supporters view on him are...not encouraging. Hopefully a fresh start will do wonders. It's a bit of a head scratcher at the moment to spend a DP spot on him. At least it fills a position of need and will push Yow to either level up or sit.
There are times where it seems the Revs just want to be able to say "See, we signed a DP"... ...to the exclusion of most other considerations. Such as whether it is a waste to sign a particular player as a DP because they're not really "DP level" skill/impact (the point you made). Such an odd odd philosophy - to exert some effort, try to draw in new not-yet-educated fans where possible - but in parallel, conscientiously and scrupulously and painstakingly avoid attention from potentially discerning fan segments and media coverage which, if incurred, would corner them into having no choice to up their competitive game. Right now, it's their choice to only "nibble", there is no pressure to do elsewise - and no one of consequential influence has anything to say about that approach. They are squarely hitting their strategic mark, even to the discontent of many discerning fans. Painful. Squandering a lot of their fandom's good will. Now into their 4th decade.

No sooner do we finally have our back line and centerback situations solved, but we go and trade our best defender for … virtual currency? Is this a case of Mitrovic being too in love with his own guys? I’m guessing Harrison is a DP because they don’t need that slot at the moment (and could get it back by restructuring at some point). But, it does make it look like that’s it for this window.
Trading Ceballos gets us $750K TAM/GAM (plus potentially $100K more in sell on), about $880K off the salary cap and an international slot (presumably to be used on Harrison). So, as a business move this gets us close to the same performance (hopefully) with much lower asset load. If you can get similar performance from a young, cheaper ($300K, signed through ‘29), domestic player you can do more. All depends on how well Koehler plays.
Hate the Ceballos sale. Makes 0 sense, especially given his fee was $2.5m and hes been our best defender so youd expect a 25 yr old to increase in value. I wouldn't read too much into Leeds fan's opinions. They hate everybody, but especially anyone related to the US.
The Ceballos sale doesn't bother me that much....if they do something useful with the $$ they save/acquire. I've been really impressed with Kohler. I'm gonna be optimistic and believe Harrison will help. He had some decent moments with Leeds and he certainly fills a position of need. Yow has done nothing. That point though about Mitrovic being a bit too enamored with his own guys....very much in play right now. But we'll see. You can't argue with how the club has performed to date.
