Around the East Conference today : Pts/Team/opponent 22 Nashville (GIH) @ Philly 19 Miami v Orlando 17 Chicago (GIH) v FCC 16 NE v Charlotte 14 Charlotte @ NE 14 Toronto (already played today ) 12 Columbus v Minnesota 12 NYCFC v DC (Sun) 12 FCC @ Chicago 12 DC - @NYCFC (Sun) This weekend will cause more separation , buckle up because we need a win just to stay in mediocre range.
Around the East Conference today : Pts/Team 24 Nashville (GIH) 22 NE (GIH) 22 Miami 17 Chicago (GIH) 16 DC/FCC 15 Charlotte/RBNY 14 Toronto 12 MTL/NYCFC/ Columbus (GIH) even a win doesn’t truly put us past MTL who will still have a GIH. A loss puts us in 12th place and a win would be a 3 way tie for 7th so this is this time of year where games create major separating had we won last week a win today would have had us amazingly in 4th place. This indicates how weak the Eastern Conference truly is.
https://awfulannouncing.com/fox/nashville-sc-bumped-fs2-pickleball-fs1.html The start of the Nashville SC game was bumped to FS2 because the previous event (pickleball finals) ran long. Like clockwork, soccer fans lost their shit. Also of note, but what people apparently forgot because everyone likes to complain: The game was available to the millions of people with Fox Deportes and AppleTV.
It seems appropriate that the entire industry of sports on television was changed by a game where the Jets blew a big lead. Talk about setting a tone for future events.
Former crew academy player Sam Sarver scores a game winner. Does a scuba celebration in front of SJ supporters, gets pelted with beers, and does a cucho The boats are ablaze ⛵️🔥Sam Sarver the man that you are pic.twitter.com/i8uZry8ke5— FC Dallas (@FCDallas) May 17, 2026
Now THAT is some soccer shit. The NFL would have a stroke if you did any of that. NBA guys wouldnt dream of it unless you offered them money. Baseball umpires would eject everyone within 20 feet.
I wonder if the league will have anything to say about it. As awesome as that moment is, I don't know if that's something they want to encourage. I mean, after the game is one thing. Drinking alcohol DURING THE MATCH isn't a great look. Not that it wasn't funny.
Well, in truth it looks like 98% of it went on his face like he was channeling Ginger Lynn. Im not sure you could really say he was drinking.
This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read regarding MLS: https://www.bizjournals.com/denver/news/2026/04/13/colorado-rapids-lionel-messi-april-18-match.html
Some of the memes on Reddit/r/MLS are absolute bangers. Sarver's had me cracking up. I have zero idea how to go link images from there, so you'll have to make do with a hyperlink. Sarver meme
This is an official letter written by Inter Miami’s supporters group. Nordecke is looking downright sane compared to this.
That is completely insane. “This time, we are going to be that child who will not stop crying until he gets what he wants...” What kind of Mickey Mouse organization thinks that, types it out, doesn’t delete it immediately, and then decides, YES this is good and wise and will definitely help our cause?? Wild stuff.
And of course the irony is that a letter like that only makes things worse. Are there no adults in that room? Why, if you didn't know better you'd say they share a management team with the Nordecke. Seriously, there are only two possible responses the club can have; One, they can (maybe) order the players to go over to the supporters section and kowtow or whatever it is they want them to do. The players will hate doing it under orders or threats, and then fans will know they are doing it under duress, making it an ugly, awkward and meaningless exercise. Two, the team can ignore it, and the supporters will have no option (since after that ludicrous letter they can't back down) except to somehow escalate the "protest" in increasingly obnoxious ways, which in turn will piss the players off even more since "We demand that you obey us" just is not a message that will go over very well with professional athletes. What a complete bunch of turds. Unbelievable.
Supporters groups tend to be led by entitled and self-important narcissists who have no business acumen so this tracks. You only get a couple chances to turn up the heat on a FO too, so picking this of all hills to die on is hilarious.
