Haruto Takahashi struck out 9 batters over 11 solid innings to earn his NPB-leading 11th win of the season. Leandro Cedeño and Yoshihiro Akahane drove in 2 runs apiece and Hideki Nagaoka went a modasho 3-for-5 as the Yakult Swallows edged the Yomiuri Giants 5-4 in a riveting contest at Meiji Jingu Stadium. It was the first RBIs this season for Cedeño who signed with the Swallows in May following Pacific League stints with the Buffaloes and Lions over the past 3 years. Taichi Yamano delivered a strong performance striking out 9 batters over 7 innings to secure his 8th win of the season. 37 year old Hayato Sakamoto hit a 3-run home run, number 301 in the legendary Giant's 20 year career. 5 runs in the 5th inning flipped a 4-0 deficit into a 5-4 lead that the DeNA BayStars held on to for victory over the Hiroshima Carp at Mazda Stadium. The second pitch thrown by Carp reliever Sotaro Shimauchi was a wild pitch that allowed the tying run to score, then Jerar Encarnación followed with a sacrifice fly to bring home the winning run.
Tomoya Masaki's 2-RBI double capped a 3-run 9th inning to give the Softbank Hawks a 4-2 win over the Nippon-Ham Fighters at Es Con Field Hokkaido. Masaki also belted his 12th home run of the year that opened the scoring in the 5th inning. SoftBank's Naoyuki Uwasawa struck out 7 batters over 6 innings while the Fighters' Koki Kitayama fanned 8 over 7 frames with neither starter figuring in the decisions. Tyler Nevin tagged his 12th home run of the season as the Seibu Lions got past the Lotte Marines 2-1 at the Belluna Dome. Kaima Taira tossed 6 shutout inning for his 7th win of the year. Reliever Trey Wingenter made quick work in the 8th inning and has now pitched in 11 games without allowing a run to score. Nevin and Wingenter were named co-Heros of the Game. Ryosuke Tatsumi had 2 RBIs including a solo home run to lead the Rakuten Golden Eagles to a 3-1 win over the Orix Buffaloes at Miyagi Ballpark in Sendai. Rui Muneyama also hit a solo shot for the Eagles, his first bomb of the year. Despite allowing the 2 home runs Buffaloes starting pitcher Allen Kuri threw a stellar 6 innings but saw his record drop to an even 6-6.

Bobby Dalbec hit his 14th and 15th home runs of the season to lead the Yomuri Giants past the Yakult Swallows 8-2. Kyojin starter Yuhi Nishidate delivered a strong 7 innings for the win. Domingo Santana homered for the Swallows, his 15th of the season. Jason Vosler and Takaya Ishikawa each homered as the Chunichi Dragons held on late to defeat the Hanshin Tigers 6-5. Dragons closer Shinya Matsuyama struggled in the 9th inning but managed to induce Ukyo Maegawa into a game-ending grounder leaving the bases loaded. 5 runs in the 6th inning propelled the Hiroshima Carp to a 6-4 victory over the DeNA BayStars. Tomoki Ishihara went 3-fior-3 with 2 RBIs for the Carp. Shugo Maki homered for the visitors, his 12th bomb of the year.

It was a tough loss for Yanagi who only allowed 2 hits and a walk over 7 stellar innings. Misaki Sasahara hit a 2-run home run in the 7th inning that gave the Yomiuri Giants a 3-1 win over the Yakult Swallows. The Swallows only managed to get one hit on the night with Yukihiro Iwata beating out a very high bouncer that took forever before Giants pitcher Bryan Mata was finally able to field it. After being 11 games over .500 in late May, Thursday's defeat puts the Swallows at .500 for the first time this season as they are only averaging 2 runs per game for the month of July.

The Yomiuri Giants rallied for 5 late runs to defeat the Chunichi Dragons 6-1. Naoki Yoshikawa led the Kyojin going 3-for-5 with an RBI and 3 runs scored while Yuta Izuguchi contributed a solo home run. In January 2025 Dragons pitcher Shinnosuke Ogasawara signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent but struggled during his time in MLB. The Nationals released him on June 15 and the Giants snapped him up three days later. On Sunday Ogasawara made his first appearance since returning to Japan and pitched 6 shutout frames against his former team for his first NPB win since 2024. Home runs from Shugo Maki, Tatsuo Ebina and Jerar Encarnación spurred the DeNA BayStars to a 5-1 win and 3-game sweep over the Yakult Swallows.
