Well it's mid-April and the 2026 MLS Season claimed another two coaches this past week! Montreal showed Marco Donadel the door when Philly left Stade Saputo as 2-1 winners. This was also Philly's FIRST win of the season too. The Galaxy went to Q2 stadium and left 2-1 victors over Austin. Portland got a very late goal to best LAFC 2-1 in the Rose City. A rotated Nashville went to Charlotte and left 2-1 winners. After another disappointing draw at home (2-2 with Red Bull NY), Javier Mascherano decided that he had had enough, and parted ways from inter Miami. The Revs beat DC 1-0 at Gillette. Vancouver beat NYCFC 2-0 at BC Place ina. really good game. Chicago got a home win over Atlanta 1-0. San Jose picked up another win to keep pace in the Supporters Shield race with a 3-1 result over Sporting KC at CMP. The Rapids shot past Houston 6-2. The Loons went to SoCal and left 2-1 winners over 10 man San Diego.

We have the return of Friday Night Soccer! Vancouver gets the week started when they host Sporting KC. Montreal will look for that new coach bounce when they host Red Bull NY. Colorado takes on Miami at Mile High Stadium. Cincinnati looks to get back to winning ways when Chicago pays a visit to TQL Stadium. New York City takes on Charlotte in Queens, NY. Philly looks to make it two wins in a row when DC United drives up I95 to visit Subaru Park. Real Salt Lake will host San Diego in what has the potential to be a track meet of a game. The game of the week takes place Sunday Night when LAFC takes on the San Jose Earthquakes in a battle of top teams in the West and the league.

As usual all game times are eastern. National broadcasts & Free games are listed. All games can be viewed on Apple TV.

MLS N&A play by play threads are neutral spaces. Keep all rivalry-esque banter out of these parts. Bullying. personal attacks and/or trolling will not be tolerated.

That's a hell of a save from Pulskamp (on the near own goal) to keep it to 3.

No disrespect to Nashville or LAFC, but I’d feel better about MLS’ chance to win the CCL if Vancouver was in it. Once they got their game going, they had a tremendous killer instinct. They went for the throat ruthlessly.

Thomas Muller has proved to be a fantastic acquisition for Vancouver. He is not just an excellent individual player. He lifts the performance of his teammates.

The entire top of the Western Conference is scary. Those owners, sporting directors, scouting staff, and coaches are building Starting XIs and depth. What they are doing obviously is working in the MLS. This seems to be stronger than just a one-off event. They are getting more for their money than other teams. What they are seeing and doing that others aren't seeing and doing would seem to be important for the rest of the league.

Don't miss what Seattle is doing. Today is only their second home match of the season. Seattle has a dominant defense, with four consecutive clean sheets, all on the road. They also have a clean sheet in their only home match. They don’t score many goals, but just four goals have yielded three wins. Seattle is a notoriously slow-starting team, and a 4-1-1 start with 5 of 6 on the road should send alarm bells through the Western Conference.

Fun Fact. Seattle has scored the same number of goals as Philadelphia this season in MLS play. The margins in MLS are very slim.
