Talking about rubbing salt: 5-1...beautiful buildup to goal. WC break is not nice to Seattle

Earlier in the game the Sounders fans were chanting "we can't hear a f-ing thing" at the Timbers fans, but that "we want six!" chant from the visiting fans was loud and clear. :)

Seattle did not, however, invent getting combed at home in a derby.

I crashed last night at halftime of the Sounders-Timbers game. When I saw the final score, I was agog . Seattle got:

    1) For Fishermen: Filleted, Battered, and Deep Fried
    2) From the Corn Belt: Picked, Shucked, and Shelled
    3) For Coffee Drinkers: Roasted, Ground, and Savored

    by...Portland?

And this was a nightcap to:

--A postponed match because of unhealthy air quality from far-away wildfires.
--A scoreless draw in front of a subdued crowd which normally is pretty raucous in a rivalry game.
--A win for a team that squandered a good start, after VAR confirmed a late PK as the decider.

Yep, good ole MLS is back baby!!
(and we wouldn't want it any other way, would we?) ;)

I did not have the Timbers combing the Sounders in Seattle on my Bingo card...

Is the Chicago Fire - Vancouver Whitecaps postponement the first MLS postponement for a cause related to a team's nickname?

If that becomes a trend, there could be some serious concerns. Flooding causing a Colorado postponement or an earthquake causing a San Jose postponement would be troubling. And certainly a New England postponement could be cause for serious concern. But an LA Galaxy postponement would definitely be the worst. I mean it would almost have to be an ELE.

The Canadian game was on in the background where I was and it wasn't until the Portland game that I realized MLS is back. Canadian games that I ignore have been on fox sports so I didn't think anything of it. Meanwhile, since United is off and I have been checking that schedule more than I should admit since I can't expect reminders to work or be accurate in 2026.

Even now I'm confused seeing MLS on a tv guide. I thought it was done until Wednesday.

    ******** it all.

I always forget how bad fox's video is.

    A game is happening.

Something not heard during the World Cup, heard here in MLS action: "Savvy by Almiron."

The quality of play after the long break isn't exactly stellar. Maybe the promo should be "MLS-ish is kinda sorta maybe somewhat back."

Has there always been on the field advertisements on Fox this season? This is my first time watching on Fox since I'm usually tuning in on Apple TV (which I don't recall seeing them on their streams).

I turned to fox and a goal happened. Is the World Cup my fault?

"Completely against the run of play - but that is when LAFC is at their best." I don't quite know how to parse that, but the visitors lead, 1-0.

Why did Son give up PK for Bouanga? He's not confident to take it? It's unselfish act

I don't know what it is this year, but between his socials and his commentary Twellman is much more exhausting than he used to be. The smugness factor has increased exponentially.

Pando Ramirez's MLS record for most consecutive shots without a goal is no longer in danger.
