    And a second

An injury to any of Balogun, Pepi, or Wright he’d be first on the list in terms of replacements.

I've been impressed with Ellis on Orlando City. Supposedly he and Freeman were together in Miami? I suppose they made the right choice!

Feels like if he’s not in the first post World Cup camp we may need to worry about losing him to Poland at this rate.

I mean other than Lewa they have: a mid-table Serie A striker, a Greek Super League striker, and a guy who buggered off to Qatar...perhaps even less competition there than with us. Could he get called in by them this World Cup??

Seems like the younger players are feasting on tired mid week legs and subs today.

Jesus Ferriera with a nice goal for Seattle today, and Preston Judd just scored off the bench for San Jose too.

Gun to your head, last offensive sub on the roster are you taking Luna or Gozo? Maybe I've just got shiny new toy syndrome but I'm liking Gozo more and more.

Luna is not in consideration for the 26th spot. He's in, and I'd bet my house on it.

McGlynn is one of the best players in the league at picking out a pass. I honestly don’t know WTF some of you poster are watching.

McGlynn’s issue is that he’s a traffic cone on defense, and Pochettino basically needed to play him at RW because of that. Any discussion on him versus anyone needs to address that.

Pochettino’s defense requires CMs who cover a ton of ground and are very active. The entire tactical set up is around players being more active than their opponents to create overloads without creating defensive gaps.

McGlynn is a really bad fit for that.

By the way.............................................................what on Earth happened to Columbus?!!!!

Legitimately one of the worst teams in the league.

They've taken a steady and consistent nosedive over the last two seasons.

Do we even count hat tricks against Columbus???

And its great that Cavan Sullivan scored, but Philly lost AGAIN. The idea is to win the games.

They may be the worst defending Supporters Shield winners in history.
That's what happens when you sell everybody, and don't reinvest. They have the lowest payroll in the league.

FWIW, in the last two games, Berhalter has scored three times during the run of play.

They did reinvest. They spent more on transfer fees this offseason than they ever have combined in their history. Now it was only around $11M but still. Have the signings worked out? No.

I've only noticed Berhalter's uptick in goals this week so I've dived in to what's happening.
MASSIVE DISCLAIMER! I love McGlynn's game. It just doesn't fit with Poch's USMNT.

tl;dr Berhalter is looking like an ideal Pochettino midfielder. He has added more box to box game and awareness in transition. He has the most assists and most goals of any American midfielder in MLS.

As we sit, Berhalter has 7 assists and 6 goals in 945 minutes this season. Those are absolutely insane numbers. Per fotmob His xG/90 of 0.28 is about half of his current output but still a very elite number. His xA/90 at 0.40 is very close to current output, again an elite number. His defensive stats are still very high.

The play that was the icing on the cake for me was not even a recent one. It was the one that started this hot streak. In the 3-2 game against Portland, Berhalter tracks back from Portland's box to stop a Mora counter attack with a well timed tackle and then appears at the right spot to score the winning goal.

You can see the play starting at 8:46

His lack of strength is probably still a weakness. However, that can be mitigated by well timed defensive contributions like the one above and not dwelling on the ball too long.
