2026 MLS All-Star Game (Wednesday, 7/29) pre/in/postgame thread [R]

The coach used to be league leaders…so I assume Nashville’s. If I’m assuming correctly, at least he realized it would be pretty weird for his own team to have 4 and the Quakes 0, unlike an allegedly informed media.

 

2026 Quakes deserve 4-5 all stars.

Munie, GK Daniel, Judd, Niko, and Beau. Bona fide all stars.

 

Yes though technically Daniel would now be an FC Dallas all-star. :-(

 

I don’t, but I believe you that it happened. I’m not a fan of the all star game because it seems too much of a popularity contest. So I don’t follow that closely. I’ll probably skip it again this year unless Munie’s a starter and I doubt that he will be, even if he deserves to be.

 

Dean Smith (Charlotte) is the coach. They just give it to the host team's coach these days.

 

It was 2001, and the Quakes were pretty good that year. Also he was selecting the squad from 6 teams instead of 30.

 

Yeah, the East versus West format also doubled the number of MLS players selected onto two all-star teams.

 

Only reason I might -- maybe -- watch is Munie. Everyone else, including Don Garber and the halftime performers, and the whole City of Charlotte, can fall into a sinkhole, for all I care.

 

What did Charlotte do to anyone?

 

So the chance of Messi showing up is basically 0, right?

 

I do not want Charlotte to fall into a sink hole. El-lay on the other hand … I’d like for a fair chunk of that city to climb into the La Brea tar pits! F- them!!

Hope to visit every MLS city some day. Charlotte is certainly vying for last on the list. I think they’re famous for their spider webs, but I have plenty of those already.

 

Charlotte is “Banktown” because they robbed the bank born in San Jose.
