Mike Rogers (R) will be get the NRSC endorsement for the open Senate seat in Michigan. Republicans hoping they can have a clean primary there with no interference from Trump because they're going to need to spend big to prop up Cornyn (R-TX) in his primary battle.
Huge fundraising haul for AOC in Q1 2025. Biggest question is if she primaries Schumer or runs for president in 2028...
People are fleeing the Democratic Party in absolute droves. Non-affiliated registrants will probably take the lead again in a few months while Democrats continue to hemorrhage. https://t.co/SezRZm4Iq9— The AZ - abc15 - Data Guru (@Garrett_Archer) April 16, 2025
Florida… Florida Rs gained 13K in one month. The national GOP should definitely be optimistic about gaining some house seats here come 2026 if these trends continue.Miami-Dade seeing a lot of gains for Rs. https://t.co/UEsfQw8wGH— CA ET Nerd (@earlyvotedata) April 16, 2025
Jordan Wood, a former Katie Porter chief and @StopBigMoney staffer, is telling fellow Dems he plans to run for ME-Sen against Sen Susan Collins (R)
Interesting trend. TX-34: Presidential election results since 2008. This Rio Grande district is 90% Latino, and the trends are astonishing. pic.twitter.com/ggcaxNjeQ9— Rob G (@robg0l_) April 18, 2025
40% black North Carolina district trending Republican Was Obama +10 and is now Trump +3. House race currently listed as a toss-up for 2026. NC-1: Presidential election results since 2008. A sad reality for Democrats. Follow for daily maps. pic.twitter.com/pafvX0Tmmq— Rob G (@robg0l_) April 22, 2025
Former AZ Cardinals placekicker Jay Feely to announce run for AZ-05, an R+20 seat in southeast PHX being vacated by Rep. Andy Biggs, who is running for Governor.
Michigan Senate race looking like a tougher hold than necessary for Dems Like how is everyone not terrified this would turn into a Republican ad all over TV in fall 2026 (don't even have to edit)"YOU WILL SEE DARKNESS" 😭GOP would have a chance to flip a Michigan US senate seat for the first time in 30+ years https://t.co/14qpxxzkzJ— umichvoter 🏳️🌈 (@umichvoter) April 22, 2025
Illinois will have a competitive election. Durbin is stepping down. The decision of whether to run for re-election has not been easy. I truly love the job of being a United States Senator. But in my heart, I know it’s time to pass the torch. So, I am announcing today that I will not be seeking re-election at the end of my term. pic.twitter.com/eiBTPjToFT— Senator Dick Durbin (@SenatorDurbin) April 23, 2025
I guess Don Bacon is seeing the readings on the wall.... and they are not pretty. W/out him, can't se the GOP holing that seat in Omaha. Won't be surprised if others follow suit as well. Don Bacon Is Considering Retirement Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) told NOTUS on Friday “that he is talking with his family about whether or not to run for reelection next year.” “It would be a blow to House Republicans, who would have to defend his suburban Omaha district that has trended left in recent years. Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris won it by more than 4 percentage points in 2024.
Do Democrats who are retiring also "see the writing on the wall"? Or does that just apply to R's? Again, Democrats SHOULD be favored to win the House in 2026. That's generally how midterms work. Anything less than House control would be a significant underperformance for Dems.
I'm being pessimistic, but I don't think so, charlie. Trump is losing support because he's a stupid fvck, but the underlying peripherals -- a populace that is ok with putting 4-year olds on the stand for their own deportation hearings -- haven't changed and Dem messaging still sucks. Should the Dems take back the House it will more likely be the result of typical voter patterns as opposed to any kind of reckoning.
Democrats +7 on the generic ballot. Looking pretty good for them if that margin holds until Nov 2026.

Thank you for the merge! Seems like our little buddy didn’t realize a thread was already well underway.
My guess is a large percentage of posters here have you on ignore. If your goal was to be able to have some kind of mature dialog - trolling probably wasn't the way to go.
Not trolling, just making an observation. I suspected that was the reason he was not able to see the thread. But I'm glad to have things consolidated.
