There are people in the US forum talking bad about Messi not getting the FIFA Ballon d'Or (which isnot the France Football (UEFA) Ballon d'Or). Boy, an award is being granted for being excellent in a football season, so for club in national league/international cup matches as in national team duties. Tell me how playing for Miami or whatever that club is in a sub par confederation compared to UEFA adds points over European based clubs, apart from the fact that Argies results in the WC were more dependent on referees needing an urgent eyecheck or brainscan for missing the criminal behaviour on the pitch by wearers of a certain badge (maybe a forensic financial check too) than on Messi.
