That ref was shit! Should have been a lot more yellow cards in that! And that really late high kick by Uruguay should have been a yellow too! This “let the lads play” attitude just favors negative, cynical, physical play. SHIT!!!
In honor of Brazil’s first game against Morocco last Saturday, I tried to make it to Galpão Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse in Cupertino either before or after the game but just couldn’t make it work that day time-wise. I already had prior commitments the next day (Sunday), but was finally able to make it there earlier today. Better late than never, I suppose (not to mention that this could also be seen as my preparation for Brazil’s next match against Haiti this Friday). GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! VAI BRASIL!!! -G
Yes, one of the pieces of meat in the first pic here was indeed covered with edible gold. Sorry for the blurriness of the last pic… it was a chocolate lava cake dessert with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! VAI BRASIL!!! -G
Dang! The Kiwis played well, but not well enough. Iran missed some chances they should have finished. Good game!
Another day of #FIFAWorldCup action 😍— FIFA World Cup (@FIFAWorldCup) June 16, 2026 GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! VAI BRASIL!!! -G
Senegal missed that last shot before the half because their guy is too damned one footed! You’re welcome @JazzyJ!
Glad to see the ref stick to his guns! He hasn’t been calling those stepping on feet fouls in the field of play, so don’t call it in the box either. Excellent! Go Senegal!!
I guess I'm in the minority on that one. The broadcast team also thought no foul. I thought the guy took Mbappe legs out. You can't slide like that in the box, not get the ball, and cut a guy's legs out. Not a lot of contact but enough to knock Mbappe's legs out. That's a penalty IMO. Anyway, it didn't matter much in the end. Mbappe actually had a pretty mediocre game except for the 2 goals . His touch let him down a bunch of times. He could have scored 4 goals if he'd been sharper. Crap player! :--)
Lionel Messi just scored his second goal against Algeria. His Miami housemates must be jumping with excitement. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! VAI BRASIL!!! -G
And Lionel Messi just scored his first-ever World Cup single-game hat trick. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! GO USA!!! VAI BRASIL!!! -G
Just learned this. The pitch size for all matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is universally standardized to 105 meters (114.8 yards) long and 68 meters (74.4 yards) wide. This fits the exact international regulations and is the recommended field dimension set by FIFA for the tournament. I’m feeling archaic thinking the pitch should be 120 yards by 75. I also want some apfelstrudel! Go Austria!!
Please! It’s Levi’s Stadium. Also, most observers here think it’s crap. I have not been there, so I have no opinion on this matter.
