Upon some deep reflection, I'm ok with agreeing with @JazzyJ . Jesse Marsch can suck it.

 

Fun game! Felt like a clash of titans.

 

Yeah, good game. The ref should have shown more yellow cards.

 

A friend of mine is complaining that Morocco were playing for a tie, and that the second half was wimpy.

Anyone agree with that?

Brazil game felt like Mardi Gras at San Pedro Square. Wall to wall people.

 

The Brazil vs Morocco was kind of boring and I actuially fell asleep watching the first half.

The goals were good though...

I was supposed to go to an AARP office lunch on Monday, but they cancelled it because they are next to San Pedro Square and they say there is no parking because of all the WC activity there!

Looks to me like the ref favors Scotland, and I’m rooting for Scotland.

 

Perhaps the atmosphere was like that for the US game, because at today’s game, it wasn’t packed cheek to cheek. In fact, we got there about 45 minutes before kickoff (Brazil v. Morocco) and could still get parking in the garage (granted, on the 4th floor, but still…) right next to SPQ. I got an autograph from Jamar Ricketts of the Quakes, and there was supposed to be a meet and greet with Naomi Girma, but they cancelled it (even though she was there!) without any explanation. Not sure if that was her decision, or the Kaiser Permanente decision since she was at their booth.

 

By halftime when I peeked out of Dr Funk, you couldn’t move. Similar dynamic getting to the garage at end of game. Then 20 minutes in vehicle exiting garage on the Guggenheim ramp.

 

I like the new throwin rule. I hope that sticks.

 

I don't think so. I think Morocco just tired a bit - they were flying for the 1st 30 minutes, and Brazil subbed early. Credit to Brazil for turning that game around because it looked like they were gonna get killed after 20-30 minutes. I was thinking - I don't know how Brazil wins this game. By the end I think they had shown to be the better team.

Morocco is really tough though. Semifinal last WC and they look strong again in this one. And they won U20 WC easily last year so they'll have some good players coming in as well.

Did anyone else think that the Swiss defender was fouled on the Qatar goal? I mean he got flattened. I guess you could argue that he got the ball with his head before he clattered into the Swiss defender?
