I honestly would have started Paz or Gio and have Messi as a super sub, would gives our enemy a surprise element but obviously that aint happening unless Messi is 45.

 

Offensively, we were quite dire.

 

I have to say, Enzo has done an excellent job covering for all of Molina’s errors (like 4 or 5), and marking Jude/Kane in the middle, and supporting our limited offense.

Messi has been very poor. Trying too many cute plays too close to midfield, putting Licha on a yellow. This cannot continue as we tire…

 

He's trying to dribble too many guys. They're also doing the usual patterns which England are reading perfectly.

 

In the 2nd half, we will need Nico G., Almada and Lautaro.

 

They are coming that side because Messi doesn't defend like Julian on the left.

They really need to speed it up with the passing and movement off the ball in the attacking third. England have three pylons at the back defensively in Spence, Stones and James coming off an injury.

I'd prefer him higher up creating play. Those two bozos need to wake up quick. I would bring on Barco/Nico G on the left and switch Julian across and get Simeone off.

 

This game really highlighting weakness of this squad. No good fullbacks and wingers is really tough in modern football.
