IMO Enzo should be sub for Paredes. He is just surplus

Such a disappointing performance, I didn't even celebrate Julian's golazo.

Argentina's worst "player" in this world cup is Scaloni. Once again today late and bad subs.

LOL, the extreme negativity is surreal?? do you guys know how insanely HARD is to get to a semifinal?? imagine if any other team have reached 3 semifinals in the last 4 world cups, all the fans would be going crazy and we are criticizing?:ROFLMAO::ninja::ninja: I know its in argentinas DNA try to be the best and play perfectly champagne futbol WHILE winning WHILE having the 2 goats in history, BUT, the important thing is scoring and winning, and guess what we are doing? Doing that an making HISTORY

De Paul has a terrible match. Nothing going forward forward, very sloppy losing many balls, failing to control balls, no longer covers his flank well.

But the midfield as a whole is nowhere near 2021-2024. Mac Allister and Enzo both with shocking errors and lack of sharpness. Amazingly, Paredes is the only mid having a good tournament.

Which team, asides from France (but even them got cornered by Paraguay) is playing beautiful futbol?? Spain is letargic, England is uneven, only France has showed something, and even with that, no team is close to Argentina 22 in Qatar and all that champagne futbol. This Argentina? Uneven, moments of great futbol and moments of chaos and disorganization. Individual brillance. Killer champion mentality. Even with all our faults that we score 3 GOALS PER GAME. Maybe we are that much better than everybody else than even playing badly we win.

You're right. Switzerland is a top ten side as well. Was always going to be tough.

Problem was we played four in mid yet were unable to control the march. We couldn't play it out of the back against their press. Our mids are not sharp. Our midfield is weak.

So we resorted to long balls to an isolated Julian. We needed another counterattacking threat to make Switzerland pay for it's high press and decision to contest the midfield. Nico González should have replaced De Paul who was the worst of our mids. Change should have been made at the latest 55'.

Lol, Nico González has been our most consistently good player in the tournament along with maybe Romero.

I agree. Before the tournament I said, "Look, let's reach a semi-final, and anything beyond that is a bonus." All of us were in heaven in 22', our dreams came true. I have no problem with losing, it would hurt but it's the way we lose. If we play our best and lose, I can live with that. We aren't playing our best, no where near it. We are just way too sloppy, way too slow, and it seems Scaloni is scared to death to make changes. De Paul has no business starting. None. But yet he is untouchable, can make all the mistakes in the world and yet plays 70 minutes, and starting again the next match. This is not acceptable.

This was a game we should've won easily. There were two or instances within the first hour, we could've closed the door. That Mac back heel and the Molina shot to Pluto.

Scaloni says we need to improve on many things... Well, we improve by making changes in the midfield. De Paul is awful and Enzo is also playing half-asleep. Paredes is out there delaying his trip to Turkey and helping this sorry ass midfield. \We leave way too many gaps in the fullback section.

We should all enjoy another semi-final. It is beyond difficult, 3 out of 4 times is a great achievement.

Yeah but we can correct that for the next game. Agree we were unable to control the match, but we had good news this game. Julián played GREAT and scored a golazo. Messi didnt save us. Even Lautaro scored again. Everything else we can correct and next partido we get a clean slate and we might play wonderfully, who knows? Our 2 strikers score and even Mac (who was nowhere to be seen in the previous games) scored. We get to correct.

    Julian played well.
I'd go with a three man mid. Paredes and two others. De Paul certainly has to rest. Nico González must start. If we in a penalty give it to someone else, not Messi. Paredes, Julian, Mac Alisster, Montiel are all 90% penalty takers.

In terms of offense, he was rather poor but the last 5-7 minutes, he was clearing crossing coming in. He's great in the air but we need more. Julian also helped with the last play, he got in the front of the defender, got it to Nico G who got it Lautaro who got it to Almada.

But I don't know... Seeing Scaloni's reaction tells me that he might be finally seeing that we cannot play the same bums in the midfield.

    Then again, Gaston on Wednesday...

    Titular.

Molina's shot wasn't too bad but he had Julian completely open. Strange decision that. Never seen him take wild shots and he always looks for that low cross. Overall Molina was much better than precious matches. Not saying much though.

I think Scaloni this time for the England game will drop De Paul.

Shortly after he came on, Switzerland bunkered. Nico should have been brought on after our 34th hopeless long ball to Julian which was at about minute 35.

We want improvement, and we aint seeing that. Starting 95% the same exact line up other than the meaningless 3d group game, but expecting to play better?

Its not that reaching a semi isnt a great feat, but we shouldnt be suffering like this if we didnt rely on jelly legs thats RDP, Enzo, Molina & Mac. They're easily outpaced & outmuscled since round 32. We're losing every 50:50 ball situation. Having a top class bench but only used them as spectators , thats needs to be addressed.

The only thing that saves our ass. We're continue to outscore our enemies.

I saw this as the game was going on.... if it was one of our players, people would be writing to their higher courts to review corruption with FIFA.
