Honestly though I hope vasco rethink his approach when winning though. He needs to keep the team pace up and use his subs. Being a foot in ans out and not ending it caused their little chances and montes paid the price.

Btw saw th south Korea game those dude were drenched mid game and hitting the floor from the altitude. Hopefully we catch them tired next game.

My take is we played a so-so game. To be expected with so many new faces, home soil and it's the World Freaking Cup. A few thoughts:

    1. Jimenez finally got the monkey off his back. Hopefully it gives him confidence.
    2. Mora is legit, I was worried he would be scared or overwhelmed against a physical S. Africa but the few times he had the ball he was dangerous.
    3. Brian Gutierrez wasn't as bad as people think. IMO he was just nervous.
    4. Lira was like a black hole. He wasn't spectacular, but plays just dissapeared in the middle.
    5. I take back my criticism on Quinonez. The Saudi League may be weak but form is form, and he definitely has it. Makes the attack better with him in it.
    6. Aguirre is less stubborn than in years past. He's trusting the younger players instead of going with Vets. I honestly didn't expect any of them to get meaningful minutes, yet they did.

I commend Vasco for subbing in Hormiga. Was expecting Memote to come in for Raul since he had been getting more playing time in the friendlies leading up to the World Cup

With the next game in Guadalajara hope to see Hormiga get more playing time on his home turf and maybe pair him up with Raul

The team created plenty of chances yesterday that we squandered. Could have easily been a 4-0 victory

I think Memote will come in for the Czechia game since he is a bigger dude and can bang with those tall dudes.

Yeah, I’ll give the Nads credit for going all out. But this Paraguay team was a disaster. They let Pulisic do whatever the hell he wanted. Their heads were never in the game

And it’s not we didn’t have chances to end up scoring another 2 or 3 goals. A shot that hit the post plus couple of other plays where our final touch was shit

I think there's nothign wrong with it. Objectively we played like shit. 2 man advatage and got hemmed in our own half which was inexcusable, missed opportunities etc. That was against a weak S. Africa. We're not getting far playing like that.
