Something was definitely up beforehand. They didn't look like they had been in previous matches in the tunnel full of confidence and spirit but subdued which carried on into the game.

I think they were running on empty, also guessing that players such as Cuti and Lisandro were going into the match carrying injuries. Which makes the fact Scaloni did not freshen things up even more baffling.

To be fair they may have felt a strain. They were carrying injuries that hadn't fully healed and Scaloni in his wisdom decided to keep playing them instead of using say Senesi now and then.

Doesnt make sense either. If the team already looked scared even before the tunnel walk, then there's something more to it. Yes we all here have pointed out how Scaloni lacked of rotation hurt the team, but IF multiple players did carrying an injury, he could easily opted to replace some of them with Paz, Barco, Lo Celso, Senesi, Palacios or even Medina. Those injured players could also asked to be replaced cause otherwise they're only gonna bring the team down.

Or you can believe that the whole camp is injured except a few...

If CV, Uruguay & Belgium can troubled Spain, there's no fckin way you can convince me Argentina cant do better.

A pity Scaloni decided Senesi upfront was better than an actual forward Lopez who might have anticipated better there or indeed Lautaro. Oh well. We gifted the final to these hunts.

Thing is RH they would think they are letting Leo down and none of them wants to do that. They are almost in a cult. I blame Scaloni not with hindsight one for his initial selections and two for never rotating or changing the tactics much.

His actions made the whole journey harder than it should have been. There is one thing to be said for consistency of selection and tactics in that the familiarity can help.

But it also has it's weaknesses in that others can better prepare for you and of course when you ignore the cardinal rules of form and fitness trouble always awaits. I'm afraid Scaloni did the last regularly.

This is why you should never trust everything you read on social media unless it is actual verified video or images. Social media does expose things which the mainstream media as in the UK doesn't want people to see but it can also be misleading.

Particularly the pseudoscientists and virologists and such during Covid and all the atmospheric physicists and oceanographers and so on.

Don't trust people who are actual experts but Mr.Smith down the road who doesn't even know what a MHC is and thinks the weather is the climate....

From now on I think we will have a bitter rivalry with the jumped up hoodlums.

I hope their clubs fail and they lose their titles. Worked with Germany so far.....:D

I don't care about all the controversies, all the tin foil hat posts.
All I'll remember is that this team failed us as fans, failed us as a coach in one of the biggest games of the all time and didn't even turn up. And for those of you who think I should shut up about these feelings becuase of the run we had because of what this team gave us, well that's what you think and what's what you feel, not all of us think like think or feel that. Not showing up for a final is one of the biggest fu to fans

I don't think the players tried to fail the fans. They would have as much as anyone wanted to win a second title. They are gutted.

I blame Scaloni. If you knew they were running on fumes why pick the same players. Sure it's a final but if a player cannot do what their mind wants them to do because the body is not able there is no point fielding them is there ?

Plus his tactics. A 3-5-2 would have been great in suffocating midfield and offering cover down the flanks as well as offering a springboard for attack on transitions with Barco LWB Simeone RWB.

A back three of Licha-Senesi-Romero or even Tags at LCB where he has played before.

if they actually started attacking like that from the beginning, not with 2 minutes left and 10 men down the outcome could be different

I think Simon hunt would have got there first. The one that really was poor was the failure to find Alvarez. I reckon if it was Barco he'd have played it in with no issue. Nico G has become progressively worse and worse as a player over the years.

Daily reminder that Nico G and Jcorrea would have started every game of 22'

Cant believe he took them back but just with Almada

It's unbelievable that we haven't got a better left winger than him. He's so shite. Zero technical ability, zero passing and zero decision making.

It's amazing how much he has declined into such a functional old style English player. Just mechanical. At one point he was one of the best young players in the Bayern Liga at Stuttcart before leaving for the Viola.

He's really fallen off a cliff in the last two years. Like someone is impersonating him. Needs dropping permanently and Barco elevated.
