Doubt it amigo. Other sides will have caught up to them by then as in 2010 and worked out you need to press them equally instead of bunkering like we did and overload the midfield.

A 3-5-2 would have been perfect. All that said how many actual chances did they create before the man advantage.

 

Scaloni this entire tournament been getting things wrong. His game vs England was his best but still got a goal cuz of molina. Scaloni didnt learn a thing

 

Scaloni was scared I don't know why. We have the players to take them head on. This tiki taka nonsense being a Spanish creation. We've been playing that for decades.

 

14, the most they scored in a game was 4-0 vs Saudi Arabia, 3-0 vs Austria.

Only conceded 1 goal, vs Belgium.

 

Scaloni messed this up badly.

 

Tim Vickery said this morning that Argentina have a tendency to sit back if they take the lead, sadly we never had that opportunity in this match. Best we could hope for was to cling onto extra time. Best team won, fair play to Spain.

Well the run ends , i was wathing the thread as usual with out any single posts. But this final is something got wrong right from the starting 11.

Plus bad luck in Licha and Romero getting injured.

But Scaloni deserves to lose for that starting 11.

 

Yep, been saying it since few games back. At some point you'll need a proper gameplan from the start. Not just letting opponents have the ball and then hoping to outgun them in last 20 mins.

Plus, starting Enzo & Mac in like 7 games while having Barco, Gio & Paz on the bench , there's something fishy on the way he managed the team in this tourney.

I've said since round 16 that Scaloni made us playing the ball at the back so that he could starts the same midfield over & over rather than rotating them so they can press from the get go. Those silly ass backpassing for 60 minutes was to conserve Enzo, Mac & RDP energy.

Had he uses Paz , Barco & Lo Celso, we wouldnt struggle in every matches and needed a late winners.

 

Enzo couldn't give a flying you know what about his loser haters. Guy has a World Cup and could captain the side in 2030.

It's now time to say thanks to Otamendi, RDP and a couple of others and maybe Messi too and build a new team.

The talent is there. They need to be developed and also make the right career choices.

I'd bring Messi into the u17s and u20s as an assistant coach. Pass on his knowledge and insight to the pibes. Inspire them directly.

When we attacked there we had two great chances.....Who knows if Scaloni had not been so conservative again. Attack is the better form of defence.

Some great memories from this tournament but I will never watch this final again. Just have to wipe it from the memory banks. I've switched the television off. Don't want to watch those hunts lift the trophy.
