Seems to be more or less middle-of-the-road for us in terms of difficulty. France got a very tough group, Portugal and Spain got piss-easy ones.
You know the format is farcical when so many teams have to be moved to other groups after being drawn. Draw could have been worse. You can only really hope not to get a nightmare group.
We didn't draw Morocco and Norway, which was worst case scenario, so I'm not concerned about the outcome. If we can't qualify from this group, with third place teams advancing, then we deserve all we get.
One of the tougher groups possible really. Croatia the top ranked pot 2 team, and ghana are probably the strongest non European pot 4 team. Group I certainly the group of death, as much as that can exist in this format.
Exactly. We could have got a better team from Pot 2, but we avoided the stronger teams in Pot 3, and a potential European qualifier from Pot 4.
If we topped our group then won our round of 32 game we’d potentially play Mexico in Mexico City in the round of 16.
I couldn't give a shit about the FiFA rankings. Ghana are going to be a tough opponent. England and France are the only groups to have three really good sides. Unless you inc Scotland's group as having three
We're not in a group of death but I don't think the rankings are an accurate reflection of quality personally, because the quality of the federation you play in has a big impact. Panama are ranked 30th in the world but are clearly not that good. Ghana are probably a decent bit better than them.
Theres no groups of death when half the 3rd place teams qualifying. No easy matches for us really, should all be pretty tough, Panama better than last time we played them
The winner of 1L plays '3EHUK' whatever the hell that means.. Probably one of the 3rd placed teams And L2 plays K2 in the 1st knockout stage
I think one positive is that we don't play until the 17th. Would assume it would be Croatia in Dallas Ghana in Foxborough Panama - Could be either
