I'm just saying that with attendance not being great already, USSF is certainly doing all it can to make attendance look awful in March.
People are going to want to see Cristiano. The Belgium game will have a lot of empty seats I imagine.

That game will likely sell out. Obviously there's the German-Americans in Chicago, but even aside from that the Second City just loves them some USMNT. The last time we played in Chicago, 36,666 came to watch a C team Gold Cup game against Jamaica. This was a standalone game, not a doubleheader. If that many people can show up for a C team with almost zero diaspora in the area, surely they will pack the place for a game with the A squad against a marquee opponent while World Cup fever is spreading. Hopefully we won't be outnumbered by Germans. It's a shame there's such a huge Hispanic American diaspora in Chicago because otherwise we would play more competitive games there. The US fans in the area sure deserve it.
Should get a good turnout. Especially since no World Cup matches are here so this might be our closest thing to a WC we can get. I am not expecting a sellout but you never know. As for more matches here, I think it will happen once the Fire build their new MLS stadium and the Bears build their new stadium.
This should alleviate attendance concerns for the Belgium match. I already mentioned this in the N&A schedule thread, but my guess is that the Continental Clásico will be against Colombia unless they get drawn into Group D on Friday, as they are the only qualified non-Pot 1 CONMEBOL team we have yet to play in the Poch era.
Another possibility would be partnering with BC for a new stadium. Alumni won't work for soccer and a rebuilt stadium on the current footprint, which sits in Newton, wouldn't work for ~30 events a year for local political reasons but it could potentially work on BC's Brighton Campus, which is literally right across the street but unlike Alumni is within Boston city limits. As a BC grad/fan I'd love to see this and I think Kraft is on the school's board.
USSF is saying that the Germany match in Chicago on June 6 is sold out (source: USMNT on Instagram). Stadium capacity is 60,000+. Just looking at Ticketmaster, ticket sales for the Senegal match in Charlotte on May 31 look to be around the 40K-50K range. The lower decks are almost entirely sold out, but the upper decks still have a ton of available seats. And that's with something like 65% of the upper deck still unopened.

There was a significant amount of skepticism in this thread when the World Cup host cities were announced back in early 2024. But the first two matches in Los Angeles and Seattle have had excellent support from US fans and ended in two great results. US matches this summer: June 2026 - Senegal - 57,741 in Charlotte (capacity is 75,037) June 2026 - Germany - 63,636 in Chicago (sellout) June 2026 - Paraguay - 70,492 in Los Angeles (sellout) June 2026 - Australia - 66,925 in Seattle (sellout) June 2026 - Turkey - TBD in Los Angeles June 2026 - TBD - TBD in San Francisco With the US now scheduled to play a West Coast route if they are able to advance deep into the tournament, IMO the team is well-positioned to maintain this strong support. With the exception of perhaps Belgium, most of the national teams that would most likely be expected to advance through this portion of the bracket deep into the tournament aren't going to have their fanbases on the West Coast. Unless the US makes the World Cup semifinal, then the team will have only played a home World Cup match in California, Washington, and Michigan.
