There’s a couple that talk smack on X too. They all are back tracking on their comments that the deal will be done this week. Seems the numbers are too far apart right now. It still may happen though, but Boro will need to come up.

Please! They have money after their sale of Hackney, plus, we basically gifted them Morris.

I know there’s a bit of age difference from when Morris was sold to how old Max is right now, but if the Crew don’t get more than what they sold Morris for, I don’t think I would accept it.

Who knows what's going on? In any event, I don't expect to retain players forever. But I do want the club to get reasonable transfer fees if/when we sell them.

What do you all consider a 'reasonable' transfer fee for Max?

Good question. Personally I’d consider anything at or above $5 mil to be good business. Even if it was 4 I think that’s acceptable. Lower than 4 should be out of the question.

In the end though, this is found money for a Superdraft pick. As great as he’s been here, and he has been great, he wants to go test himself overseas. I’m sure this gets done sooner or later and I wish him well.

Why would we get more for a 25 year old RWB than we got for a 22 year old CM who is considerably better?

(I think the Morris deal ********ed us as it was far too low and set a baseline for our dealings with Middlesboro)

how many years left did Max have left? 5 million seems about right to me to be honest. Consider the league he is going to, where he is coming from and clearly not a robust market for his services.

Why do we keep doing business with Boro when they take us to the cleaners each time?

My only thought with Arfsten is: How much are other teams offering for him? If Boro is the only team coming, maybe that's his actual value.

It would seem to go without saying that when the team is wheeling and dealing with millions and millions of Jimmy Haslams money that Bez is the guy pulling the levers.

And Bez is nobodys fool. He knows the market.
