Wish from above? Like Jimmy wanted Alliyu gone? What did he do to deserve such attention? After 30 years of following this league, the one thing I have learned is to never trust a media report of an injury that wasn’t there last week and all the guy did was walk from his car to the locker room. It’s always bullshit.
Good to see these guys in town. We could use the injection in talent. New kids on the block🤩 pic.twitter.com/5pg184KLSo— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) March 10, 2026
There is no way to move him with that contract. The Crew would have to retain so much salary they he'd still count as a DP for us. They have to just buy him out.
Tarun hasn't been officially announced as signed to either the first or second team so it's very interesting that they're so high on him enough to say that he would have started game 1. He says Tarun wasn't available. Not sure if that's due to injury or something else. If its an injury I wonder if they're just waiting for him to be healthy before signing him.
The team has been deteriorating since summer 2024. Rossi, Arfsten, Zawadzki, and Moreira are still nice pieces. Farsi if healthy. Abou Ali has had a decent strike rate but his hold up/combo play has not been impressive. We do not have an alpha creator or alpha defender. The middle of the park is soft AND does not create nor control. We are not good in the air. We don't do anything particularly well.
I was very hard on Schulte last season, but he's looked way better so far this season. He's finally back to making big, game changing saves. If he can keep this up, he might see himself on the WC roster. And based on the current GK pool for the USMNT, he might actually see the field.
I think Freese is in the driver’s seat, but Schulte is probably playing his way back onto the roster. Matt Turner—IMO he’s fallen down a peg. I’d be surprised if Schulte didn’t make the 23.
I would argue since the summer of 23! We were not think ahead and being proactive and in 24 winter window rested on our laurels. It’s been downhill ever since. I think Bez checked out when Haslam wouldn’t listen to him. I can’t blame Bez for leaving because all Haslam did was try to handicap his vision and efforts. It started at the top with losing ppl and in summer of 24 Morris left and then the roster started to unravel due to prior neglect and we continued to neglect roster deficiencies. We can try to blame Nancy for his part of wanting a small roster but if you offered him better players i promise you he would be more open minded even if still a difficult guy with a swelling ego. But offering him bargain item players … I would rather keep a small tight group myself. Adding and having a full roster of mediocre to bad players is actual worse.
WAA is not the problem here. There's no one feeding him into zone 17. Look at his latest heat map, he's getting balls in 14 or out wide.
Well. I guess that’s technically correct but he’s not the profile of forward we need. They need a false nine.
Ours closed over a year ago. Though you could argue it closed when Morris left and the club didn’t bother to replace him.
Tried to bring in Hartel, but Nancy vetoed. The story circulating about the deal falling apart because we wouldn’t make him a DP is incorrect. The real reason is that Nancy thought his ego was too big.
Nothing says success quite like people from the Azerbeijan Pro Leagues. Fire Tall. Fire the whole FO.
Sorta roster related, but Schulte wasn't called up to the USMNT roster (Max of course was). Roman over in Cincy was.
