Nah, they're supposed to standout. I loved the 90s Prem kits where the keeper looked like he was on a team from outerspace, but also sometimes...so did the teams. Umbro in the 90s was killing it.
An Applebee's waitress told me that CPD usually looks the other way at this stuff because the local government is told to ignore it. Now, if you accept just $1 to help defray the cost of a tailgate that includes alcohol, you'd best damn be sure to do so only from people you know and under the table.
The alcohol laws are arcane, at best--still better than my home state of PA. But they do go after folks in places you'd not expect, They cited the Ohio Wine Producer's Association once at their convention--and they have a strong relationship with the Ohio government. It was some obscure violation. My BIL was not happy. Nor was the state commerce department.
Weeell. If you buy and use counterfeit stamps (and they are rampant), your mail now can be destroyed without recourse under current rules (they used to charge postage due). Counterfeits are one of the main reasons why the Postal Service is losing money hand over fist. And, of course, if you are buying knockoffs for resale, that is illegal.
Oddly enough, I've only had one go south and that Morgan chick fixed it up real nice, although it's missing the trademark symbol for the Glidden logo. It definitely helps to wash on cold water inside out, at least since about the 2011-2013 jerseys (yellow diamond jersey) or so. Anything made since about 2017 (funeral jersey era) or so should definitely be hang-dried.
I hang dry everything soccer and wash inside out. But I have a recent Crew pair of shorts and a Rev's jersey where some of the smaller lettering is starting to come off (and I never washed/wore the shorts).
Oh, wow. That’s not a good condition to have. Glad you’re out and feeling better. If you don’t mind my asking—is it secondary to diabetes or from too rapid of a weight loss? It’s fine if you prefer not to answer. Or we could DM. Just concerned and curious. Regardless, be well!
My $0.02: Always wash in cold on gentle cycle. Always air dry. (I usually use a drying rack). I’ve never had a jersey get ruined by washing/drying it. I’m perfectly capable of ruining a jersey by snagging it on something or spilling something on it!
I had mild diabetes (just needed pills, no insulin) but lost track of my health during a crazy December/January and woke up one morning delirious with an 800-ish blood sugar. I am truly blessed to be alive.
I've had issues with numbers and lettering cracking and coming off on older stuff (we're talking 20+ years old).
This method has helped 1000% but there are still some times that I'm sloppy and a jersey makes it in the dryer with a wad of other wet clothes.
I've got about half the league, if not a bit more. ...but my dad's family is from the Boston area (Cape Ann and Essex) and I was born in Rhode Island.
I have relatives in the Akron area.... but haven't been to the new stadium yet! My Barbasol black checkerboard Crew jersey is my favorite - classiest thing ever. On topic: I dig the new kit. I like a good collar... but sometimes not. If it grabs me, it grabs me. 2026 'Charlie Brown is No Longer on the Team' Crew kit is also quite classy.
