Sometimes I feel like this San Diego team needs to be tested for performance enhancing drugs. What a team.
I wouldn't actually be that surprised if this SD team scores a fourth goal while playing two men down.
Thinking back to last year's Leagues Cup Seattle 7-0 Cruz Azul result and tonight's San Diego 9-man win over Toluca, MLS is getting wins over Liga MX teams that would have been unthinkable a decade or so ago.

I was curious about participation in the CCL/CCC during the "modern era" starting in 2008/2009, as I was reading that Seattle and Vancouver have only met once before. Below is the list (it's possible I made mistakes as I counted myself). Of note, only 3 MLS teams have not participated during this period. Here's the list based on the number of appearances beginning with 2008/2009: 9 = Seattle 7 = LA Galaxy, Toronto 6 = Houston, Vancouver 5 = Columbus, Montreal, NYRB, Sporting KC 4 = Colorado, DC, LAFC, Philadelphia, Real Salt Lake 3 = Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas, Miami, New England, Portland 2 = Nashville, NYC, Orlando 1 = Austin, Chivas USA, San Diego, San Jose, St Louis 0 = Charlotte, Chicago, Minnesota edited thanks to ArsenalMetro and Newtex
A fun fact I like to point out to Fire fans every chance I get. Chivas USA folded in 2014 and has qualified for more CCLs since the 2008 re-format than Chicago. Also, not all 0s are created equal. Charlotte has failed to qualify for 4 tournaments, Minnesota 9, Chicago 18. (I think you double-counted 2018 btw, you're one high on everyone who qualified that year - New York, Toronto, Colorado, Dallas, and Seattle)
Wikipedia has a list of club participation since 2008: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONCACAF_Champions_Cup_and_Champions_League_records_and_statistics The only differences I see are: 9 - Seattle 7 - LA Galaxy, Toronto 5 - NYRB 4 - Colorado 3 - Dallas, NYC 1 - Nashville
