It's probably going to get worse, if anything. Teams will be qualifying for a tournament based on a season that ended 9 months before rather than 2.
I'll go with they really don't care about this tournament. They have yet to score a goal in the run of play in MLS. They sold Baribo to a rival and went out and signed prospects. CCC isn't a priority when you rebuild a SS team just before the tournament starts. . They have also lost Ernst Tanner, so who is making the calls on players? You would think it will be at least ten games before this team finds some chemistry but right now they can't make a pass with purpose, everything is just hopeful.
As we head into halftime with LA trailing at home to Alajuelense in the Round of 16, a reminder that the only MLS team to advance following a home loss was...LAFC against Alajuelense in the Round of 16 in 2023.
So far it's definitely a "funny old game": the game has been played mostly in the Alajuelense end, but Alajuelense score a golazo on their only real attack of the entire first half.
1-1 at full time. LAFC finish with 77% of possession and a 25-3 shots advantage, but can't find a winner.
And just like that a tournament that MLS was dominating has turned into a DISASTER (I am already assuming the Galaxy are losing tomorrow).
To the Jamaican team with 10 visa denials after MLS beat CFU teams by a combined 25 goals in the last round?
That would make me happy as a galaxy fan (though I'd feel a bit awkward about the visa situation) but the table is set for an inevitable upset.
Awesome triple header tonight. For me anyway. You’d have to be a committed Galaxy fan to care about the second game.
I missed some good games due to limited time and the "desire" to watch the shitshow at Dignity tonight. Do you think attendance at 6:15 PM in Carson will hit 1,000? Who is taking the day off from work for this one?
I’m kind of in between as a neutral. MLS winning again would be cool but I’m not crushed if it doesn’t happen.
Well, I’m not there because tickets were not given to season ticket holders and kickoff on a workday at 6:30 is pretty insane. you’re a real person? I’ll buy you a beer at a future home match and we’ll talk attendance, tv ratings, and shoot the shit.
So 70k+ to see Messi in DC 4 days ago but maybe 10k in Nashville tonight for a champions league match? Im a tad surprised.
