That's how I'd do it. Related: Within the past year or so, I met a celebrity at a public event. The line was ridiculously long. I believe it started later than advertised, but props to the guy for staying well past the announced end time to make sure everyone had a chance. There was absolutely no CBA here, but he still could have said "Ya know, I promised X amount of time in the contract and I'm two minutes over and oh well."
I didn't get there until probably 15 minutes or so before the official start time and got in after they decided to stop scanning tickets. If you're saying the art museum was worse than the conservatory, I'm glad I took the second one which ended up at the stadium. I waited and waited and waited for Cucho and finally ended up with my 2022(?) booklet finally finished. Last night, I got there right before the official start time, started in the atrium, saw those guys come out and got everyone except the guys in the natural history area.
If you have a credit or made a deposit for different seats, you might want to check your 2025-26 invoice, which is now in the Account Manager section of the website. I had a $500 deposit which was not referenced on the invoice. I reached out to the rep, who is great and very responsive. He confirmed that it was simple oversight between Ticket Sales and the "Box Office" (his term), which manages the execution of the tickets, including payment. I got the impression through the communications, though, that had I not reached out ... the deposit would have remained an oversight indefinitely.
Parking question -- we have a pass in the Front Street garage, but going to stay at the Sonesta overnight. What happens if we don't leave by 6am on Sunday? Would we just need to pay hourly on exit?
This thread on the most sunny of sunshine brigade forums should be alarming to the front office and ownership. Look at the number of non-renewals. The handful of us who have been highly critical for the last year aren't alone. There's a lot of people voting with their money that feel the team's ambition to squeeze fans has far outpaced their ambition to win trophies lately. https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMassive/s/1tjS2nqKSK
I didn't end up renewing my ticket for next year. It's a combination of my kids moving into teenage years and having more commitments (but less time to make a 2-hour Saturday drive to-and-from Columbus) and it being a much better value to get tickets on the resale market. I'm not able to make about 10 matches this season and it's hard to find a taker for many of those matches. I'll miss the early access to playoff tickets and swag, but I'm betting what I save on the season ticket will make getting the more expensive "in demand" games off the resale market still have me ahead. Plus, this gives me some freedom to take in the game from different perspectives--and take my teens to the Nordecke finally. I've been a STM since 2008 for almost every year I've lived in Ohio (excepting '11-'14 when I lived out of state). It was a fun run!
This seems to the consensus of priority as to why folks aren't renewing: 1 - Pricing 2 - Secondary STH benefits aren't as valuable as before (Perks/swag are meh, can't recoup cost if needing to sell, plenty of tickets on secondary market) 3 - Cleveland game this year / STH agreement on future games being moved there The fact that the Cleveland game was in April and several posters on Reddit still bring it up as a factor in not renewing ... should reflect how much trust was lost by the Crew. And the pricing issue ... yikes. The Crew got pricing wrong once already at LDC and had to roll back in several sections. A price-gouged customer is eventually a former customer in almost every facet of life.
The price is too much for a mediocre product. If it was 20-30% cheaper then I can afford to miss or eat a game or two. With the high prices, if I can’t sell my tix then I’m losing value in being a stm. Abou Ali seems like he has the swagger to be the face of the franchise. Have you ever seen a single interview with Daniel Gazdag? He might be a nice guy but he’s uninspiring and not worth paying to watch. Rossi isn’t far behind. The public will support a player that fights for the Club. I’m not seeing much of that this year.
Underlying all of this is the perceived erosion in the quality of the product being sold. Cucho may have been the best and most dynamic and entertaining player who's every donned a Crew jersey; a player truly worth the price of admission. But Lucas was no slouch, either. Pipa was pretty damned fun to watch. And don't get me starter on Guille. Maybe Abou Ali will be the next name to add to that list. He'd better be, because there's not much on the roster that'll - week in and week out - thrill the fanbase. It goes beyond wins and losses, and how a fan might personally value the product. If, generally speaking, the fanbase is less entertained and that leads to a modest softening of demand for tickets or simply more tickets available on the secondary market, it just makes it that much easier for a fan on the fence to walk away from a season ticket commitment, knowing that odds are good they can score affordable tickets to the games they're interested in or able to attend.
When we moved to Lower dot Com Field, my seniority got me superb seats. Now that the team is converting my part of the stadium to club seats costing about $4700 a season more, I (and my neighbors) are being forceably moved and given the option of taking seats other season ticket holders are giving up. I sure hope some of these people relinquishing their season tickets have decent seats I can move into.
I guess it depends on what you get out of being a fan. Seems quite a few of you like to bitch and complain, so I get not wanting to pay money just to do more of that when you can do it at home for free! I buy the cheapest seats in the stadium and I make most of the games. This year I have brought a few newbies when my wife/daughters haven't wanted to go, and all were entertained enough to want to come back. Win or lose, I enjoy attending. Sure, it's more fun when there is a Cucho-type player on the team and we win, but in the 30 years of being a Crew fan you learn to enjoy the highs and tolerate the lows, which are unavoidable.
So does that mean that Brook, the Original Crew Tattoo, is the original real fan too? I can't remember if anyone got ejected before he did, although there might be an asterisk there since his was at a USMNT game. @hangthadj did you get ejected in 2002? You might have him beat.
This is where I was back in 2023. My kids had to many activities, and we travelled to much. Unfortunately the best way for me to watch is from AppleTV 90% of the time. I haven't been to a game this season, and probably wont. I've been given some tickets which I've had to regift The worst thing about all the streaming services is that it makes it impossible to easily flip back and forth between different games/sports or do picture in picture (youtubetv is getting pretty good with this)
My wife and I also ended up not renewing. We have been STM since 2019 (we signed the pledge to buy season tickets during the STC saga). It kind of kills me not to renew, as we have great seats near midfield, just 11 rows up and on the aisle (Bread Financial Club tickets). But my wife has missed most of the games this year (some health issues, and a bit less motivated to go), our two sons no longer live in Columbus as they are back in NE Ohio, the 2 hr 15 min drive from CLE to CLB is starting wear on us, and of course the expense. Two Bread Financial Club tickets along with parking in the Hocking Lot (my wife has trouble walking, so parking in a nearby lot is a must), runs just under $7,000. And similar to the comments above by @hardhead, when we don't attend our tickets normally go unused, the swag is nice to get but not really worth the cost of all the unused tickets. Plus, tickets can be had on the resale market easily enough, and many times under face value. Also, personally, I really don't mind where I sit (though I always try to get an aisle seat if possible). So, all of those factors combined resulted in us not renewing.
