After a brief break for the group stages for the Club World Cup and the Concacaf Gold Cup..... the 2025 MLS Season rolls on into the Summer heatwave. Some teams will be missing players still. Lots of important matches this week with midweek and weekend action. Miami may be hosting Atlanta on Saturday Night, burt as of this writing that game will need to be rescheduled. The best of Wednesday's slate includes The Revs hosting Nashville. Chicago hosts league leaders Philly. Vancouver welcomes San Diego to BC Place in the late game. The weekend has a host of good games. The Red Bulls will welcome the Loons to North Jersey. FC Cincy travels south to take on Orlando. Chicago continues their homestand when Charlotte visits. The California Classico takes place in NorCal. Seattle returns to league play when they host Austin. Sunday Night Soccer sees a top of the East clash with Philly visiting Columbus. LAFC returns to league play when they host Vancouver in the week's final game. As usual all game times are eastern. National broadcasts & Free games are listed. All games can be viewed using MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. MLS N&A play by play threads are neutral spaces. Keep all rivalry-esque banter out of these parts. Bullying. personal attacks and/or trolling will not be tolerated. Interesting that Miami doesn't have a game scheduled this weekend, but Seattle and LAFC do. I guess that worked out then...
Here are the MLS Game Guides for this matchday. Remember that these are updated through the matchday. We don't have PRO's Assignments because, well, they still don't have a functioning website and they kinda sorta don't care and, yeah. The game guides list the officials match by match, but never list the AVAR because it's apparently an Area 51 secret.Or they don't care. Maybe we all don't, so there. Here is the Disciplinary Summary for this matchday. It actually has been updated this week. We don't have the Player Status Report yet. That usually shows up the evening before the matchday.
Did MLS change the red card suspension rules? I thought the rule that you couldn't serve a suspension while on international duty was still valid but Wayne Frederick is no longer listed with a red card suspension but he's been with T&T since he picked it up.
Update, MLS's page is apparently wrong (shocker!) as the Rapids are listing Frederick out with his suspension. Since T&T were eliminated on Sunday I'm guessing he's back and will actually serve his suspension in tomorrow's game.
Between PRO and MLS, they are having a moment. Both need to make nice with Gen Z quickly. They need their interns back.
Tomorrow was going to be my lone 2025 visit to watch an RSL home game, now postponed due to the LAFC participation in the CWC.
