Meanwhile across town the Red Bulls had another Red Wedding and heaped more misery on the Galaxy in a 7-0 thrashing. Orlando and New England played an exciting game that ended in a 3-3 stalemate. The Crew got a stoppage time equalizer off of a corner to earn a 2-2 draw with Philly. The Sounders went to Space City and messed with Texas, getting a 3-1 victory over the Dynamo. Mid week sees Orlando entertaining Charlotte, in what could easily be a 0-0 stalemate or a goalfest. Can the Galaxy finally get their first win of the season??? Hell can they redeem themselves after their "showing" against the Red Bulls when they visit Philly? Nashville and the suddenly goal scoring Red Bulls will tussle in Music City. The MLS is in mosey mode getting out the information for the midweek matches. They DO know the matches are tomorrow, right? Here is the link to PRO's assignments for the midweek Matchday 13 games. Here is the link to the MLS Game Guides for the midweek Matchday 13 games.
Finally, here are the Disciplinary Summary and Player Status reports for the midweek Matchday 13 games.
Very defensive lineup for the Galaxy with all three DPs injured. Only Fagundez and Reus normally play attacking roles. Reus is playing as a false nine. Mauricio Cuevas, usually an outside back, is starting at right wing.
Great work by the Galaxy on the counterattack to pull the Philly keeper out wide... only to waste the chance by passing to no one.
This is Reus's first really good game since he arrived in MLS. Maybe it's still too early to say that playing him as a false 9 is the answer, but the role seems to suit him well tonight.
Uhhhhh . . . wasn't Night of the Living Dead set in Pennsylvania? No particular reason that thought came to mind right now.
Leaving the early matches at the half to watch CITY v. SKC. Despite eight straight winless matches, CITY is right in the thick of this one, and the match is still a tense nil-nil. Of course, kickoff is still 15 minutes away, but hey, take what you can find for hope.
