I would say that you can cater to anyone you want as long as you don’t do a shit job of it. The marble & cherry blossom themes are iconic to this area and I don’t think it’s hard for everyone to feel a sense inclusion in those ideas. Last yrs home shirt looked pretty good and everyone who has been to a game in the last 2 years gets the tie in. 70s funk go-go culture? That’s an awfully small niche and becomes big reach when they’ve made an absolute hash of it, in addition to the design trending strongly toward plain which the Hanes undershirt and marble kit took big hits for. Look at the Sounders ‘21 away or RSL ‘20 home which with our colors may or may not have been a better attempt, at least it wouldn’t have boring another boring AF attempt. You can also bomb a shirt if you haven’t struggled a ton in recent history. I know the RSL shirt was panned when it dropped, but at least it was bold. I don’t think anyone was expecting another cherry blossom grade shirt, but wow, this is plain and the theming while potentially interesting was SOOOO minimal that it’s the old sin again. I could see that color pallete as tough to integrate on a larger scale, making this perhaps not the best choice of themes. Sometimes a person can lock in on something and not be able to get away from it.
My predictions: Miami Cincinnati Atlanta Charlotte Columbus NYRB Orlando Chicago NYCFC --- Nashville DC United NE Revolution Montreal Philadelphia Toronto Shield: Seattle Spoon: Toronto USOC: DC United League Cup: Don't care
I’m on board with these. I think Cincy will tumble even with Evander but otherwise looks right to me.
I think the big surprise will be Columbus. Nancy is a very good coach, but Nagbe is a year older and the only real offensive weapon they have is Rossi. Schulte is a very average GK who has been protected by a goal dangerous offense which is now gone. Bezbachenko is now gone as well and Yssa Tall (a finalist for the DCU job last year) is on his own. I can see Columbus failing to make the playoffs.
True, If regional is defined as 80-90% eotr. And full disclosure, I used to date one of C Brown's nieces.
Literally no one cares, take your opinions to PMs. This side quest is over. The Jersey is what it is and either you like it or you don't.
⚫️ BREAKING: D.C. United have agreed a deal to sign Mexican youth int'l midfielder Fidel Barajas on loan from Chivas, per sources. Barajas, 18, eligible for both Mexico and USMNT. He joined Chivas last summer in a $4 million deal from Real Salt Lake https://www.givemesport.com/dc-united-agree-deal-sign-fidel-barajas-from-chivas-sources/
He's also American even though he has represented Mexico internationally, so he wouldn't take an international spot.
In an only in MLS deal, Goff reports that DC has traded $100k of 2025 GAM to the LA Galaxy for $125k of 2026 GAM.
doesn't sound too much different than trading one current draft pick for two picks in the next draft, except for how it is. Hobbes, where's Calvin?
Don't worry, save your money he'll score 15 and we'll find out there's not option to buy which doesn't matter because Levien would f_ck it up by trying to renegotiate the option price. And there is actually no buy option in the deal, so at least that piece of heartbreak is removed in advance. Imagine playing for a team where the high today will be 78* and having to come here to train on the frozen tundra of Loudon County at some class C office space for a club that can barely even spell playoffs. Its like where they send the players who don't eat their vegetables at dinner.
