Thx for always posting these @ManiacalClown Seeing the 300th game for Jeremy Hanson, do you have a list of historical for all the Rs and ARs over history? Also, I find it interesting that there are several referees that are performing AVAR duties this week. I feel like this is the 3rd or 4th AVAR for Allatin, who was a whistle in MLS. That's twice in a week for him, too, and I don't think he's a DFW referee, so twice traveling for AVAR as well. For Hernandez, this might be his first time in the booth, so AVAR is understandable. Radchuk has both VAR and AVAR duties on the same night. That's gotta be a difficult brain-switch to undertake.
PRO has a camp this week so the whistles are all already in town. Assignments of convenience! Allatin is actually up to over a dozen AVAR assignments. Hernandez is on #2. I might have conveniently forgotten to highlight his first one. Radchuk is actually doing his first AVAR, but he's paired with Szpala who is doing his 3rd VAR so you have someone with significantly more experience sitting next to him than last week when we got our Nickelback Moment ("look at this photograph..."). I'll try to get an up to date list put together of the officials with the most games in various roles at the end of the season.
Early RC in Carson for a little kick to the balls. Meanwhile in Orlando, Vancouver had a potential winning goal denied early in added time. Looooooks like a goal from the best angle, but the best angle sucks. Grass is green. Whitecaps won it later in added time anyway.
I think there's a very good chance there was a punch in the balls to #7 before a kick in the balls to #19. The manner and result of that fall seemed more than coincidental. I love the color commentator conceded he deliberately made a kicking movement toward an opponent's testicles but since he planted on the ground first, surely it wasn't that bad and should only be a yellow card. Just next-level braniac analysis.
With the print media almost gone in the modern era, it seems almost anyone can be a pool reporter nowdays. A poorly worded question was actually asked: "Why was the red card given in the play...what did they (VAR) see to confirm a foul?".
Dallas appealed the red card issued to Farrington for violent conduct, and the appeal has been denied by the Indepedent Review Panel.
PRO has posted a ref cam video of the Austin/LAFC game. I enjoy the conversation of the first card given which was for SPA jersey pull. Player says that’s not yellow card worthy, it’s the first foul, etc. Mendoza asks him “then why did you pull his jersey?” And the player says “because he was getting away” Mendoza: “EXACTLY, ITS A TACTICAL FOUL”, player still just says “that’s not a yellow card”
