Montreal won away at NYC. Galaxy now own the longest winless streak to start a season in MLS history and did so in emphatic fashion.
With how much they suck right after winning the Cup, I question if they are not secretly coached by Caleb...
It ended up 7-0. All four wheels have now officially fallen off of the wagon at LAG. 3 points in 12 matches, and a -20 goal differential for last year's champion.
I wonder if there are any cases of a team in Europe winning the championship one year and then getting relegated the next. I know the reverse has happened (a promoted team winning the championship).
Ended up 7 -0 with the crowning blow being a stoppage time own goal. Not a banner night for the Gals.
I love this tifo created by the Minnesota United supporters. Precisely why the Haslam's banned tifos for the Crew vs Miami sham match in Cleveland. Minnesota had a real home match vs. Miami, real home support, they won the match 4-1, and made a statement.
Golden Balls own son just changed his last name.so as to publicly disassociate from his father. His lessons on respect needed to.start a little closer to home.
Gotta admit that Pink Phony Club is very on point. Well done! I hope the a chant starts around that so every club can sing that when they play Miami. Bonus points if they can weave Golden Balls into the lyrics.
Eastern conference midweek match ups today : NYCFC @ DC Charlotte @ Orlando LAG @ Philly FCC @ Toronto RBNY @ Nashville ATL @ Austin Miami @ SJ a win could push us ahead
If I had to describe my reaction to that in one word, that word would be "are you effing kidding me?"
Aaaaaaaaand Philly wins in stoppage time. I should be pissed that they picked up two extra points late, but I’m too busy laughing my ass off at the Galaxy.
Want to see something goofy? Check out the highlight of St. Louis‘s goal that made it two-nothing right before halftime.
They were +1000 odds but i was scared to bet even knowing LAG would prob mess up but the bet no tie still had good odds. I regret not pulling the trigger
Saturday no game is bigger than ours but here’s what’s happening in the east: Philly @ ATL DC @ Nashville Chicago @ Charlotte RBNY @ NYCFC SJ @ NE Toronto @ MTL Sunday Orlando @ Miami why not have Chicago v STL , Nashville v ATL , NE v Philly , leaving Charlotte v DC the entire rivalry week in a week with midweek games seems odd as well
The Galaxy have extended Vanney's contract. Wild stuff. I don't necessarily think the guy should be fired right now. They are without all 3 DPs right now and their FO made some questionable roster moves last year that really screwed them this year. But to extend his contract right now is pretty wild. Through 13 games they are winless, have only managed 3 draws, and have a -21 goal differential. BREAKING: The LA Galaxy and head coach Greg Vanney have reached a contract extension, sources say. @PaulTenorio first reported.Galaxy won MLS Cup last year but are in historic 13-match winless run to start 2025Vanney has won multiple trophies in career https://t.co/YqTznmDM6e— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 16, 2025
Vanney did just win MLS Cup. That buys you some rope (Ask Caleb Porter.) By giving him an extension, they're clearly sending the signal that they believe that what's happening this season isn't his fault. Which is more than fair.
Agree but they should have did it after MLS cup but if anything his asking price likely went down or at least he lost a lil bit of leverage it would seem. But who knows how long they been working on this contract.
BREAKING: U.S. Soccer has authorized a special, 10-day transfer window from June 1-10 ahead of the Club World Cup and MLS will implement it only for clubs in the tournament, per sources. The Seattle Sounders & Inter Miami are in + LAFC could qualify.https://t.co/Hk4TWYqEBm— Tom Bogert (@tombogert) May 16, 2025 I kinda agree with how they handled this. Unless we had flaco ready to go june 1, this would have cut our transfer window down to effectively 20 days as teams and players would wait out the european teams for better offers
