Palmerias almost did Miami dirty at the end there creating a chance after several mins of a gentleman’s looking pass about for the draw at the end of stoppage time
Miami with the ol’ undefeated group via the one win and two draws. Reminiscent of the USMNT, this truly is a real World Cup.
Are these the pitches going to be used at the World Cup or are they just for the CWC? I thought FIFA and an American university had hundreds of scientists working in the World Cup pitches somewhere in Georgia or Alabama.
Nobody complained about the same grass tech being used at CONCACAF Nations League earlier this year. Kinda think it's just more sour grapes from Real Madrid for not looking as good as they're supposed to.
I never understood the issue with Messi and PSG fans. Was it because Argentina beat France at World Cup 2022?
They were on his case before that. Just immature fans thinking acquiring a bunch of stars means automatic UCL win. To be fair, it was kind of arguable Messi was prioritizing his national team play at the time. That said I still think he was outplaying their golden boy Mbappe, who was ridiculously selfish in his play and squandering a lot of his potential assists.
I always wonder what would have happened if Messi joined Miami when he left Barca. I think Beckham was reluctant to sign him then because it was during Covid and Inter Miami just started as an expansion team so they will have most likely have struggled for a while... On the other hand though, they will have been a more advanced as a club by now.
It's practice for the systems they will use, but none of them had the lead time they will have next year.
The US player's feedback was positive. I guess a lot of US players grew up playing on turf, so maybe their expectations aren't as high as the Euro prima donnas. I read on ESPN that FIFA are treating the CWC as testing process and will make changes based on player feedback.
Like Kylian Mbappe? https://www.skysports.com/amp/footb...admitted-to-hospital-whilst-at-club-world-cup
MLS haters are in the mud right now. The copium is strong with them right now. Well, the Seattle-based office of MLS got 0 points playing all games at home. But at least they were a decent preseason sparring partner for these legit clubs. Those are always useful.— 3four3 (@3four3) June 23, 2025
They (PSG fans) were tired of what they perceived to be prima donnas. Messi, Neymar, and even Mbappe. As soon as PSG focused on building a team they won the UCL.
Whatever happens after this is just more cherries on top. No one expected any MLS team to advance. MLS haters expected anxiously for all MLS teams to get humiliated, specially against the Euro clubs, and it didn't happen. They still holding up hope for PSG to pull off the humiliation though. Hope doesn't die for them. I'll give them that.
Sydney to Riyadh is almost 13,000 km, yet Australia and Saudi Arabia are both in the same confederation. I don't think it makes sense for MLS teams to play in CONMEBOL club tournaments, I'm just pointing out the distance aspect isn't unheard of in within-confederation tournaments.
Messi against the club whose fans basically chased him out of Europe is a pretty epic storyline. FIFA is very happy.
True, but AFC club competitions have always been divided into eastern and western brackets for most of the way through. In its current format, AFC Champions League Elite is split until the quarterfinals and the final eight are at a single location. In the previous format, it was split between east and west until the final. Champions League Two and Challenge League are both split until the single-game final.
MLS teams have won 1 game of 8 in this tournament on the back of a Concacaf Champions Cup in which they won 0 of 11 against Liga MX. Like, good for Miami, but this isn’t really rising to the level of “hell yeah ******** the haters.”
